I'm in a really big predicament here and I just don't know what to do. I had to get a biopsy done to check for skin cancer. I'm in a really big predicament here and I just don't know what to do. I had to get a biopsy done to check for skin cancer. They took some skin from all over my face and left me with scars and bruises but the worst part is that I can't wear ANY makeup for at least a week. I didn't think it was going to be a big deal so I didn't research the procedure and now I'm totally lost. After it was done my Doctor just dropped "oh by the way you won't be able to wear makeup for a week." I can't put ANYTHING on my face except soap and water and my wedding is this Friday in two days. I'm a full face everyday girl so most people going to the wedding have never seen me without my makeup and with the new scars I can't even look at my reflection in the mirror. I have family from out of state who are here already and took off from work to be at our wedding and now I don't even want to go. I've called my doctor earlier today explaining the situation and she said I'd absolutely be at risk of infection if I wore makeup even for one day before it heals. I'm so stupid for scheduling this right before my wedding. I don't even know what I was thinking. Now I have the choice of getting married looking like a zombie or calling off the wedding entirely which I don't think I can do to everyone. I tried my dress on earlier without makeup and before I felt so beautiful in it but now it just feels like a cruel joke. I know you probably think I'm being overdramatic but I'm never without makeup not even to the grocery store. I have literally no eyebrows or eyelashes without makeup and gross skin. I feel so naked I just want to lock myself in my room and sleep through the wedding. Sorry for this poorly written rant. I'm hoping someone here can come up with a way I can get married without looking too scary but I'm not sure if that's possible!

Don’t be nervous - you’re going to be and look awesome!!!! Not the same thing, but, I’ll tell you that I just got married in early June and about a month before that, found out I have breast cancer. (We are an older couple). Not the news anyone wants, but we were determined not to let it steal our joy. We didn’t tell anyone beforehand because we wanted nobody thinking about that....we wanted it to be the happiest, dancingest party of the year. And it was!!!! It was fabulous and yours will be too if you focus on the right things. You have a person who loves you and is about to commit his entire life to you. It doesn’t get any better than that!!!!!!

    Good luck - have FUN!!!!!!

I would still wear makeup. I would wait as long as you can the day of to put it on and make it a priority to thoroughly remove it by the end of the night. Between now and then, I was use Neosporin like it's going out of style. Your doctor HAS to tell you the risk.. doesn't mean you will get an infection.. but are you willing to take the risk? I would!

I can completely understand where this is stressful girl and I’m sorry you’re going through this. It’s really your call. Personally though I wouldn’t risk the infection and just go bare faced or wear VERY little makeup; however I’m the type of girl that doesn’t really wear makeup everyday. I used to go full faced 24/7 but that was back in jr high and high school.
My opinion changed soon after though around end of hs/college timeframe when literally everyone told me not only am I prettier without it but I look like “me” with less and even without any makeup on at all.
Maybe see it in that perspective.

Your S.O is marrying you for you. Not for your makeup you wear. Beauty is not skin deep and neither is love. Its so much more than that.
And you’re gorgeous inside and out. Especially on your wedding day.
Youll be beautiful, glowing, and have a great time regardless. 💍⛪️💕

A big braid or a flower crown are other options that might be able to help you feel more comfortable

Unpopular opinion, but I don’t think risking your health in order to wear makeup is worth it. Your wedding is 1 day, you’ll have your face for the rest of your life. A bad infection can lead to permanent scarring, and as someone mentioned before, if it makes it to your eye, possible irreversible vision loss. Your FH already thinks you’re beautiful, with or without makeup, and your guests can suck it if they don’t like it.
