I have two sisters, they are both from different moms. One sister I am closer to and she has been there for me during my entire relationship and even threw me an engagement party. I want her to be my MOH. On the other hand, my other sister and I have grown apart over the years, and I feel like she is really occupied with her own life. We don't even talk on a regular basis, and the only time I have seen her in the last year or so is at family events. I don't plan to invite her mother to the wedding and I don't know if I should include her in my BP party.
She didn't help my other sister with the engagement party even though she new about it (didn't offer to help decorate or pay for anything) and since I got engaged she has not even reached out to see where I am in the planning process or how things are going it's been 2 months. I feel like she expects to be in the BP b/c she is my sister and I honestly don't know what to do. I want her to be a part of it but I don't know if she will make a good bridesmaid.
My parents don't care what I decide to do but I am torn on if I should ask her to be in the BP as a bridesmaid with the uncertainty that she will contribute financially, set aside other things in her life to attend things I may ask her to, cause trouble when it comes to me telling her what dress to wear, paying for hair/makeup, and if the fact that her mom isn't invited will cause drama too. I plan to invite her to the wedding regardless, I just don't know if she should have the bridesmaid title.
Has anyone else been in a similar situation?
