I want to cancel

I want to cancel, I don't even understand why I'm crying. It really is a lot to do a wedding then I thought. I just want simple now because I'm more concerned about living somewhere nice, I don't want to have a nice wedding and go with roaches and rats. My FH is so non chalant, I'm so emotional...

    Lianna, it'll be ok, boo!

Take some deep breaths. I too agree with pp's. Talk with FH & if you need to scale back...then do what you have to do. The wedding is one day, the marriage is what's important!

Also, crying is good for the soul! Cry tonight, then tomorrow..."dust your shoulders off."

On a funny note, your avatar is the hairstyle I want for my wedding...like so serious! You have great taste! ;-)

Lianna, I was in the same boat just about a year ago. I was so excited about the engagement that I rushed into everything! We put a 2000 dollar deposit that my mom graciously helped us with. That's when all the stress hit - my fiancé's parents gave us a huge list of people they wanted there meanwhile offered no help. Our families were huge and had no idea where to cut down! We realized we were gonna spend well over 30,000 dollars when we hadn't even moved out on our own yet. The stress became too much for me to the point I was crying all the time. My mental health was way more important to me then the wedding which is when we decided to take the 2000 dollar loss (my mom was more then understandable) and take a year to enjoy the engagement. Now we are planning a 50 person beach wedding within our budget and don't feel any of the financial stress we were before!

Wedding planning is incredibly stressful! One thing you have to remember is to plan and properly host a wedding you can afford. If that means a small wedding then it will be perfect! There is nothing wrong with that at all. I agree with others who have suggested taking some time off, you have time to just chill for a bit. @Celia has offered some great advice!

I understand completely. Wedding planning can be very stressful...if you let it.. Just take a deep breath and set aside a day or so to yourself. It does really help!! Best wishes!

If you have not put down any deposits, slow down and really think about what you really want for this wedding. Having a small affair isn't a bad thing. I know family members and friends will try to convince you to have a huge wedding but if it's not something you can afford or want to spend, do what is best for you and FH.

Wedding planning is stressful. I remember being in tears a lot of the time the first few months when you realize your budget doesn't match your dream wedding. Give it a break for a bit or push back the wedding to save up more money so that you can have both the wedding you want and the home you want.

Also since your wedding is so far out you still might be able to get some or all of your deposits back. Call amd explain the situation and see if they agree you refund if they book your date.

Wedding planning is very overwhelming. Trust been there! It will stress you out. Take some time to think about things that are important to you. Cut the guest list if too large. Simple works too. I am doing very simple bare bones ceremony and reception. I worried about not doing a lot and how people would feel but at the end of the day I am doing what works best for me and my situation. The ones invited should not care if they truly love you and want to celebrate with you.

    That's my 2cents!
