I wanna registry at Lowe's is that WEIRD ?

FH and I are in the process of purchasing a house that needs some TLC. Would it be weird to register at Lowe's or Home Depot ? Do you think people would actually purchase us wedding gifts from these stores ?

No we wanted to do something similar but don't have a local store to do it at. I would have no issues buying someone something from Lowes. It's still for the home so I think that's fine.

We're planning on registering at Home Depot just for that reason!

Lowe's doesn't have online registry last I checked. We looked into it and they told us they'd print you out a "wish list" (basically like you'd make if you were browsing online) but there would be nothing online keeping track of what was purchased or shipped, etc. Plus a lot of home stuff is seasonal other that the standard tools, etc. So we registered at Sears. They are just like any other wedding registry but you can add tools, lawn furniture, camping supplies, etc.

When we bought our house, we spent so much time at Home Depot that I kept threatening to set up a couple of cots in the aisle!

I think it's a great idea and idk why the home improvement stores don't jump on the registry bandwagon! Unfortunately neither Lowes or Home Depot has one. I suggest making an Amazon registry for tools, etc!

As an employee of Lowes I can tell you that we do not any sort of registry, the program was canceled sometime between ****. Smiley sad

I'm pretty there there are online registry options that you can use and put stuff from all different websites on so you may look into that!

I'd rather help someone with home improvements then buy a saucer dish that will only be used once every couple years.

Register with Amazon's universal registry and add the Lowe's and Home Depot items to it! It'll be easier for your guests to find and use!

This is a great way to have an unconventional registry but still register for items towards your home and life together.

FH and I are registered at Menard's, so totally not weird! We've lived together for about 2 years and bought a house 1 year ago, so we definitely could use home improvement type stuff. I (kind of) jokingly suggested registering for landscaping bricks so I can build planter boxes in the front!

I work at home depot. They do have registries. It is a very old school system, but manageable. They don't have online access. When guests come in, they need to know all specifics though. It makes it way easier to find the registries in the store systems database. You can go to any store, but I'm pretty sure you need to know the store 4 digit number from where the registry was made.

Nope! I had a friend of mine recently register at Lowe's. I didn't think it was weird at all.

One of my best friends is a store manager for Lowes but we no longer live in the same state, so no more discounts for me Smiley sad lol we are upgrading our house, so I'm registering on Amazon for some of what we need!
