Is there anyone out there who feels they bought the wrong dress? Don't get me wrong I love the style of my dress it fits my theme and fits me well. However it has straps and I've always wanted a sweatheart neckline. Has anyone changed there dress from sleeves to sleeveless? I'm worried the dress is...

I'm worried the dress is a scoop front and won't be able to change to strapless. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I've never thought of straps as being in the way during dancing. But ultimately, what's important is that you LOVE your dress! Take it to a seamstress and just see. Maybe it'll cost more than its worth, and maybe it'll be easy peasy. You won't know until you ask!

Olivia, if it helps I read how another bride was afraid her twins might popped out because she had strapless. Just something else to consider since you want to party it up on the dance floor.

The David's Bridal store I worked in was one of the few that previewed that dress before it was put into the collection. Every single person loved it and it looks AMAZING on (so much better than the model).

What I did notice with all the brides that none of them liked the belt that came with it and purchased their own. I wouldn't recommend any from David's, but look for some crystal belts on Etsy or anywhere else. It will make it that much nicer. The dress really is pretty and the silhouette when it's on is more of the statement than having so much lace and beading and whatever else.

Also, with this dress you can't alter the sleeves. If you take the sleeves off, the dress will fall down. We went through this with two brides who took their alterations elsewhere outside of David's since we wouldn't do it. There's not enough structure in the dress to keep it up.

I can't remember exactly but I read something a couple weeks ago of how a seamstress can put in something called a "boning" to make it work.

You can read the reviews and see other brides in it. I would also recommend a little crinoline trumpet skirt to give more shape to the bottom. One of the brides posted her picture and it looked very bland because it just fell flat, maybe that's another issue you have with it.

Most dresses can have boning added to it, but I think the issue with this one was that the material was too thin. I think the boning was going to show through the dress and it doesn't reach up to the bust where it will fall down. The material isn't thick or made enough to do that, it's made to be held up by the straps. It's a polyester material.

Lilly, this dress is a fit and flare. It's fitted through the bodice and hips, and flares into a fuller skirt.

Danielle has some great advice. It sounds like removing the straps may not be an option after all.

I think your dress is beautiful as is! That said...it's all about how YOU want to look on your wedding day. Talk with an alterations specialist and get her thoughts. She may say it would ruin the integrity of the neckline or she may say it will be fine. Either way I'd try taking it to at least one other seamstress to get a 2nd opinion.

Haha I was just coming on here to tell Lilly that OPs dress is a fit and flare but Emily beat me to it.

I think this dress is beautiful.
