I wear a business suit to work everyday accompanied by block heels. They are comfy & easy to walk in. They come in all kinds of heights & styles as well.

Wanted to add, that you really need to wear the shoes when you get the pants tailored. I know it seems obvious, but sometimes easy to forget. I second the block heel, but if you practice, a nice slim heel looks great and gives a lightness to the ensemble.
