so today I purchased a dress and I think its pretty but I never really got that moment of I'm a bride but that can very much be because I do not wear dresses lol and I'm just not entirely happy with my weight

Not everyone has the media portrayed “it’s the one!” moment. I didn’t, but I still love my dress. That doesn’t mean it’s not the dress for you! You look beautiful in the one you purchased and your fiancé(e) loves you just the way you are! Be confident in your decision! You look beautiful and with hair, makeup, and the emotions of the day, you’ll be glowing even more!

The dress really is beautiful and it looks amazing on you. You say you're not entirely happy with your weight, which I understand, but the way it looks (from an outside opinion) is slimming and stylish. Your FS loves you the way you are, and will think you're beautiful in whatever wearing Smiley smile so wear whatever dress makes you happy. The dress doesn't always have to have that "wow-factor" I bought a dress that made my mom cry and I raved about it for weeks... then it came in and I realized I actually hated it, so I exchanged it for a new one that I absolutely love.

Thank you so much you are right!!! yes I was with my mom and bridesmaids and they loved it and said how it was perfect for the venue! I know I'm my worst critique I gained a lot of weight 50lbs after I had my triplets so it's new seeing me at this weight and I guess hit me looking at the pictures!

I completely understand that. Triplets! wow, I can only imagine the toll that takes on your body. I have 1 and I'm still bouncing back from it. You'll get to a place where you're more comfortable with yourself and how you look (especially if you're gonna be chasing around 3 small children, oh my god!) Just know that you look fabulous in that dress, even if you struggle to see it yourself at the moment Smiley smile

Honestly, I think a majority of brides go through “dress regret”. I went through a phase of 2nd guessing my dress too. I just keep reminding myself there’s a reason(s) I picked that dress over the many other dresses I tried on.

Exactly! Keep that mentality and it’ll keep the stress level down. In the beginning of this wedding planning, I cared way too much about it being perfect, pleasing everyone, etc. Then, my mom gave me the best advice - she said “it’s yours & FH’s wedding, do what ever is best for you guys.” Now, we are planning our wedding according to what we want and what’s important to us - while still making sure we host our guests well. The most important thing is that you are marrying the man of your dreams & the two of you should be happy on your special day.

I went through something similar recently. I bought a wedding dress in July 2019 and started having dress regret almost instantly. I'd tried on about 100 dresses and been to 10 different salons and was started to feel lost and pressured, so I bought one that I liked, but didn't have that "this is the one" feeling. Fast forward to now, the regret has been weighing on me for 6 months. I even put my dress back on hoping it would stir some emotion in me, but it just didn't. So Friday, I decided to make one more appointment. The very last dress I tried on was so perfect for me, I teared up, and finally had that moment. My suggestion to you is to believe in your gut: whether that be remembering why you loved your original dress in the first place, or if you're in a situation like mine, take a few months off to reassess what it is you actually want, and try again. It was actually easier for me to focus on finding the one after I already had a dress because I knew at least I wouldn't be walking down the aisle naked. Smiley xd

Anyway, good luck! I hope you figure it out and have a magical wedding!

My "moment" was literally a shrug and a "yeah, I think think this is it".
