I love balloons

Check out this balloon inspiration! I feel like it would be totally cheaper than flowers. And if done correctly would look awesome! I hope I can pull off a lot of balloon decor!

It's your wedding; you should do what you want, honestly. But it probably won't save you money, if that's the core issue.

    Hi KK!

I'm not trying to start a WW War, it is also my opinion that the comments could have been discouraging to her. And there was no "false statement" made at all. I did not comment on cost of helium or anything else for that fact.

My comment didn't apply to you really...

I do still believe that it could be a great idea if done tastefully Chloe! Smiley smile

    Peace. Love. No War.

Hmmmmm..........you could really roll with the whole balloon thing....I'm sure your BM's won't mind....

btw, do whatever you wish, it's your weddingSmiley smile I personally would not, because it's not cheap like you're envisioning, and I feel as though it would cost you more in the long run. Heck, I just got balloons for my friends twins b-day and it cost $40. That's for some mylar, rubber, and helium....$40.....

I think it can be done very tastefully, but it is a thin line. As per cost vs flowers, I'm not sure, but if you love the idea, go for it! It doesn't have to be tacky.

Wow!!! I love all the banter and debate on the cost effectiveness of balloon decor. Comparing flowers and balloons is really like comparing apples and oranges. But at the same time, dollar for dollar...balloons will give you a much bigger impact vs flowers. DIY balloon decor can be done very cheaply, but usually ends up looking very tacky. However, professional balloon decor can be incredibly beautiful. We can create a beautiful balloon centerpiece in any color you desire, that will have a huge impact for around $25...that same $25 spent with a florist will get you a few carnations in a bud vase. I don't me to dis the florists...we do floral arrangements too. But I can give you a much bigger bang for your buck with balloon decor!

I see your wedding will be taking place in Vegas...there are some incredibly talented balloon artists in that area. Seek them out and prove all the nay sayers wrong!

I think I will have a balloon archway at the very beginning of my aisle, it's outdoors. Also, I don't have to use heliem with my balloons, just a thin PVC tube that is bent and joined to form the shape of archway and then wrap balloons around it, blue and white ones. it's playful, adorable and if done right, it's extremely cheap.

    Balloon lover here too!

Ballons are really nice. Some of the inspiration pics are beautiful but you have to keep in mind like the ladies said earlier... if there are children or older people there they may be started. Also, lots of ballons can be very expensive and the gas as was stated earlier. It is your vision and it should be exactly what you would like it to be.... Maybe your could incorporate a balloon drop at the end or something so you still get your balloons and not have to pay for helium. You'd only have to purchase the little kit and buy the balloons.

You may want to think about doing some tulle wraps around columns or you can do silk flowers and petals which are very inexpensive. My husband and I are doing our ceremony on a budget so I am looking into discount sites like oriental trading... think outside of the box and draw inspiration from prom catalogs and things like that....

Wow!! Thanks for sharing it............I really like the idea...........But yes I am not sure for having balloons decorations for my wedding..........I mean I really like the decoration but flowers are flowers..........For budget reasons you can always have silk flowers options...........They look stunning and cheaper also..............

I would definitely use these balloons decoration in some event of my wedding..........

If your goal is to save money, I don't think baloons will do it. And let's face it- they are balloons... kid's birthday parties spring to mind.

But if you want to save money, there are plenty of other options besides flowers for decor that seem much more sophisticated for a wedding event.

Another factor to consider is time! Blowing up balloons is very time consuming, and the person tying them will get very sore fingers. Even with a few tanks, and trained professionals, it would take hours to fill as many as you would need. I'm not sure what your venue will allow- but typically set up time is limited. You really don't want friends and family having to sit there and blow up balloons for hours the day of your wedding.

It's your wedding so do you..We won't be at your wedding walking down the aisle seeing balloons you will..If that's what you love and you have the money JUST DO IT...I'm not even sure if I read that you asked what we thought about balloons, just what you were gonna do...I hope you can pull it off if it's cost effective for you...

@ Meghan B. I just think it is funny that you mention time and sore fingers in the same sentence as trained professionals! The whole point in hiring a trained professional is so you don't have to spend the time doing these things yourself. As far as set-up time, a trained professional will most likely have everything inflated in their shop and transport them to the venue. And as a side note, I can inflate and tie about 300 helium balloons per hour...I can do this all day long and not get sore fingers...that's what trained professionals do!

This is so ironic.. I was just of FB and came across pics of someone's wedding who had balloons everywhere. I thought it was hideous and must have been very annoying to have strings in your face while you're dancing. Which is probably why the dance floor isn't packed in any of the pics! But I'm sure you have something better in mind!

I love the idea of balloons as well. And as I am having an 80's themed reception (Jamie T.) it fits well. My centerpieces are martini glasses with colored crystal inside. I'm using number shaped balloons as my table numbers. They will be tied to the martini glasses. Just a unique idea to throw out there.
