Just got an email from my venue, informing us that Hawaii extended the 14 days quarantine for incoming traveler until the end of July. I get it, it is for everyone’s safety, but I am super upset, heartbroken, angry, stressed, and I feel like I don’t even want to think about a wedding anymore. At least not in these moment. I just feel nauseous and I can’t sleep. I don’t know how you guys feel better after you decide to postpone.

One of bridesmaid arrived yesterday from Miami, and I am supposed to alter her dress tomorrow. My 3rd dress fitting is this week, but I just feel like canceling everything, boxed everything and stuff them in the storage or shed. I dreamt this wedding for more than 2 decades after our elopement, and now I just don’t give a 💩 to my wedding anymore. My chest felt so heavy, and I just feel like crying.

I don’t even think about breaking it, due to respect to locals and authorities, not the penalty. But you know how expensive it is Hawaii, and staying inside for 14 days for 6 people is a couple extra $$$$, plus food delivery, plus the boredom.

Do you know if we are allowed to rent an airbnb? At least with backyard or pool? I probably go nuts in a small hotel room for longer than a few days.

I'm so sorry Belle, my heart goes out to you! Smiley heart

I'm not sure if they have any Air BnB restrictions - I'd think you'd be able to self-quarantine in one if you rent it!

With heavy heart, I had to realize that I have postpone my DW.

I still plan for something on the 23rd of July. I am thinking to do the cake and my reception that night, and so we can celebrate our anniversaries on that important date. Our DW will be on August 4th, but still need to get the confirmation from my venue. Hopefully today.

It seems risky to plan travel to Hawaii only 4 days after the newly revised reopening date. What if the governor extends the quarantine period again? It seems too stressful, to me, to keeping cutting it this close. It would be far simpler to just have your cake at home next month and then put your Hawaii vacation off until next year when you can be confident that travel will be allowed.

My venue told me that the government will not extend the quarantine any further, and they will not charge me anything to postpone for 2 years. Also the flights are free to postpone until March 2022.
