i lost myself in wedding planning

I confess. I completely lost myself in wedding planning. At first I wanted to elope but my fiance stated we should include family. We dont have many weddings in my family. AT ALL. I am a people pleaser so I wanted to make the wedding enjoyable for my family and guests. Good food, drinks, music. I aimed for 50 people. Invited about 70. Got alot of NOs. Alot of people didn't even bother answering my texts or phone calls letting me know if they are coming or not even though I stressed how important RSVPing...even if it's a NO is.

I stressed myself out to the point that I forgot that this was about US. Now 11 days until the wedding the guest list is dwindling. The weather forecast predicts rain at an outdoor ceremony with no alternatives.

I really wish I'd saved the money and just spent it on us and eloped. We can afford it but I just feel like I wasted money on pp that really couldn't care less about me.

We really should have eloped.

I feel you! I wanted to elope also but my mother and fiancé wanted to include family. To me it’s all feeling like a hassle and everyone is mad about stuff - I feel your pain. lol. The thing I keep thinking is- on the day it will all be worth it. Those who matter will be there and enjoy it.
