i honestly don’t know much about weddings, help?

I don’t get married until Fall of 2021, but have started getting ideas together before diving into concrete decisions. I feel kind of silly though because I don’t know a lot about weddings and haven’t been to any since I was really young. Are rehearsal dinners necessary? Pros and cons of having one? Do most venues allow a live band? Do you really throw your bouquet at the end of the wedding? What should I know, Lol, help?

I would start via pinterest reading blogs and to get ideas. Each venue is different so you would need to speak to them, rehearsal dinners are if you have a rehearsal but it can be low cost like pizza at your house. This site can also help when you have questions or need opinions.

A rehearsal dinner is necessary as long as you're having a rehearsal. Most adults can find their way down the aisle with minimal instruction, so if you don't want to host a rehearsal dinner, skip the rehearsal.

I've never seen a venue contract that doesn't allow a band.

It's up to you if you want to do a bouquet toss, but I've never seen it at the end of the wedding. Typically it's after the other traditional reception events like the spotlight dances and/or cake cutting. Recently, having a separate toss bouquet has become popular so that you don't have to throw your large, expensive, bouquet.

    Hey there, Molly Smiley smile

Don’t feel silly!! Most of the community are planning their first wedding. You’re not expected to know everything there is to know about planning a wedding (unless you’re a wedding planner professionally of course!). If you’re ever unsure or have questions, always feel free to ask the community. It’s exactly what we’re all here for Smiley heart

You should definitely check out the Wedding Ideas for informative and helpful articles all about the wedding planning Smiley smile

A rehearsal dinner happens after your wedding rehearsal. It’s time for your closest friends and family to bond and spend some quality time together. It is nice to feed and treat all these people after the effort they put into coming to the rehearsal or traveled from afar. It doesn’t have to be anything large or fancy. If you’re trying to keep costs down, you can just invite your inner group and have a pizza party, beach picnic or BBQ. It doesn't even have to be a dinner. Depending on when the rehearsal ends, you could have a rehearsal brunch, lunch or cocktail party!

Whether a venue allows a live band may vary with the space available, etc. The majority would, however, it’s always best to confirm when you reach out initially for more information.

Whether or not you do a bouquet toss is totally up to you. You don’t have to do it if you don’t want to!
