I have a tiara should I get a veil too?

Mrs.Matthews, on March 4, 2014 at 3:49 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 11

So this is the dress I bought, it is an Alfred Angelo Disney dress, as we are having a Disney World Wedding. When we were in Disney World last (When FH proposed) I bought a tiara from Arribas Brothers that I knew I would want to wear for the wedding. Well when I tried on this gown the lady gave me a tiara with a veil that I absolutely fell in love with. The veil however was $500, which seems ridiculous especially when I already spent $2,000 on a gown. I don't know I kind of think the veil looks really good with the dress though, even though I never thought I would want one. What do you guys think is a veil and tiara too much, and if not where can I get a veil just as nice that won't drive me broke?Thank you!

I know lots of brides got their veils from Etsy or Ebay that were more budget-conscious.

I never would have bought my beaded veil from Alfred Angelo if my Nana hadn't offered to pay part of the cost.

I got a $40 veil from etsy and it was just as good as any other. If you weren't getting married at Disney World I'd be against the tiara but I guess it IS a disney wedding. I'm pro veil because it's really the only time you can wear one but $500?! you can always come back if you find one you like elsewhere.... you have plenty of time!

I'm wearing a veil and a tiara. I wouldn't feel like a princess or a bride without either. ^_^ I don't think it's too much to have both of them.

As for where to get a cheap veil, if you have any sewing/crafting skills you could make one yourself. I've heard it's super cheap to do that.

I bought both of mine from the store where I got the dress. It was about $250 for both the tiara and the veil which seemed like a good deal to me.

I never wanted a veil but my mom always did. As @King said, it's the only time you really can wear a veil so totally go for it as you don't want to have regrets. You can always take it off for the reception. We are doing a first look and I will not have it on then and it will be a total surprise when I walk down the aisle as he does not think I will wear one. (actually besides you ladies, only my MOH, her mom & my aunt even know about the veil!!) I will probably take it off after pictures following the ceremony as I know it will drive me nuts all night.

I am wearing my sister's tiara, however I am wearing it as a headband instead.

You will be beautiful either way :0)

Is your tiara on a comb? I wasn't going to use mine (on a comb) but when I paired it with the veil I HAD to have I found that it hid the comb of the veil and kind of completed the look

I have both, but hadn't decided if I would use them both or not. Reading this forum I like the idea of wearing both and just removing the veil for reception.

My tiara is not on a comb, and I like the idea of removing the veil..as long as it doesn't mess my hair up Smiley smile

I like the veil. You can get them on etsy for less than $50.
