I hate the dress my bridesmaids picked!

I decided to let my bridesmaids pick their own dresses with certain guidelines...short chiffon or mesh mint. They all ended up liking a one shoulder dress with a lace top and mesh bottom. We were only there for ten minutes. The more I think about it, the less I like the dress. I don't think it...

I decided to let my bridesmaids pick their own dresses with certain guidelines...short chiffon or mesh mint. They all ended up liking a one shoulder dress with a lace top and mesh bottom. We were only there for ten minutes. The more I think about it, the less I like the dress. I don't think it really goes with the theme. I think the lace makes them look too formal. I am having a very small casual beach wedding. No one has actually purchased the dress, but I don't want to ruffle any feathers by asking them to consider something different. They will be paying for their own dresses. Would it be too bridezillaish for me to ask them to reconsider?

Do you have a picture of it? It doesn't sound too formal. Short dresses are casual, and they did pick the right material and color. With the right hair and makeup it'll look beachy.

I let my girls pick their own dresses. We had a Facebook group and they would post a pic when they found the one they loved. Then the other girls would know what to get to match. I just told them I wanted champagne dresses with either some lace or bling detailing. They nailed it!

Have you thought about putting each of them in the same color, but different style?

You should pick like 5 or 6 different dresses and let them choose from that. I know that I'm definitely going to be picking mine out for my girls

My bridesmaids are all my sisters and my very best friend. They are all super sweet and supportive. They told me when we were there that they would wear whatever I wanted them to. This is the dress. I don't think its an ugly dress...maybe hate was too strong of a word. It just wasn't the one I had imagined them choosing. I'm just going to leave it alone.

OP, from the picture, that dress doesn't seem too fancy for the wedding. As others have said, dressed up the right way, it'll be a nice beachy bridesmaid look.

Good to hear you're letting it go!

I think that dress is lovely. My MOH is wearing the same dress, but floor length and wine color. I think it will look great on the beach. Definitely not too formal!
