I hate my teeth

I am super self conscious about my teeth. I tried invisalign a for a few months and it left my teeth discolored. I've been considering getting bonds or veneers. Advice?

People tried to tell me "but they add character!" That's nice, but I wanted straight teeth and to have them not be so tight, I couldn't clean between them properly. It is amazingly disgusting the things that get lodged in your gums that a toothbrush won't get rid of. My dad had the same issues, and ended up having all his front teeth pulled and a permanent bridge put in. I decided to try and forego that. I wear my retainer religiously.

    First off, you are beautiful.

Second, I know from personal experience it does not matter what everyone else says. If YOU are unhappy or dissatisfied with something, it is YOUR opinion that matters because YOU need to be happy with YOU. If you want to do something that will make you more confident and comfortable, I say go for it 10000%. I've been researching Invisalign and Smile Direct so I can correct over crowding of my teeth. Thinking of having my teeth as-is on my wedding day makes me want to cry. Sounds silly, but it's something very personal and important to me to have a smile I'm comfortable with. Especially since these picture will be documented and looked back on for years to come.

I've also heard about veneers, but really don't know much about them; let alone enough to draw up a plan to pursue them. Something I would suggest is to participate in a Health Flexible Spending Account (https://www.healthcare.gov/have-job-based-coverage/flexible-spending-accounts/) if offered by your (or FHs) employer. It's a great way to cover costs of eligible dental expenses on a tax free basis, and you don't have to pay it all out of pocket up front. Other than that, I'd say get a consult from your Ortho, discuss your options and buckle down and start saving.

You can do this! Good luck!
