I'd consider it a mermaid too. It reminds me of my dress (except my bottom is different) but I think the bottom starts at the same level

This is the dress i bought and I'm in love with it. Maybe once you get alterations you can see it fitted to your body better. My dress had to be taken in and I get to see what it looks like a lot better in about 2-3 weeks. I hope it all works out

It's a beautiful dress. I also had a change of heart with my first dress and I bought the one I wanted after even when it was over budget because I knew it was the way to go.

Now that u know the shop won't take it back, give it a few and see if u feel different. I also second guessed my dream dress for a while...

@Jillian c. It has elements of the dress I had in mind (ruffled skirt, sweetheart top) but I honestly went for it bc it was half my original planned budget.

I think it's beautiful! Try it on again before you give up on it. I went through a period where I thought I hated my dress but when I tried it back on that all went away and I loved it again.

I feel the same about mine but in the end I know it's not about the dress so I'll rock it and hope that it'll feel better after alterations and being all glammed, maybe try doing ur hair and stuff before trying it on again next time!!

I'm sure you really do love it, sounds like a normal case of dress regret! don't look at other dresses!

Yes don't look at other dresses until you get yours in and try it on again. I had the same issue where I was regretting my dress and looking at other dresses and I started having nightmares. If you still don't like it when it comes in, see if it can be altered to have the bottom part starts a little lower. If there's nothing that can be done, then try to resell your dress and go dress shopping again. I'm a cautious person tho so I wouldn't sell the dress until you for sure have another one. I think the dress looks great the way it is, and I think everyone at some point has dress regret.

If you don't like your dress, sell it and get a new one. If you don't, you'll regret it. This is like wearing a ring that you don't like just to keep FH happy.

You bought it for a reason- you made payments on it after you walked out- you just don't have it in hand and you already admitted to looking at other dresses "I should stop looking"

um- yeah- you should- but the way you typed that made it sound like you weren't going to.

So what are you looking for here?

It IS after all just a dress- there are probably 10-20 dresses that would be beautiful on you- there is no such thing as just ONE dress.

Finally- almost everyone orders a dress a little larger- it's the way of the world- you size to the largest portion of the body then have it fitted to the smaller portions. that's not new or special.

If you get all frothed up over this you're going to be disappointed anyway- but just relax- stop looking at dresses and go get it fitted when it arrives.

@JoRocka. Not finishing for compliment. I went to the boutique tried it on and paid for it in full. In hindsight, I would've tried on a few more dresses and waited to buy it. But I'll figure out a way to rock it out w hair and makeup.

I tried this same dress on, loved it, but ended up buying another. I think it is beautiful!!

ETA: Stop looking at other dresses, stop trying on other dresses. It will just fuel your dress regret. Trust me. Wait until it comes in, do your hair nice, bring some jewelry, and try it on again. Hopefully you will love it once it comes in and is fitted to your body.
