I Hate Looking at Pics of Myself

I'm posting because I recently got my engagement photos back and... I hate the way I look in them. I hate my teeth and my big nose and the lighting and my stupid flat hair and my dumb-looking chin just, ugh... part of me knows that it's just me being dramatic and self-conscious, but I honestly don't know how I can drive myself to want to look at these. Has anyone experienced the same feelings? What did you do? I'm trying to make save-the-dates and I'm dreading sending anything out with these pics. Here's some examples of ones that I feel like I should love but HATE. Also, the only one I really liked is the one with me giving my FH a piggy-back ride shown here, but the lighting isn't very good... please, honest opinions.

Omg- LOL- an iPhone CAN take good pictures- same with the SamsungS6- but being a photographer isn't just about snapping a few shots.

These looking like you were just messing around with friends for fun (which is fine)- but an actual photographer would have been able to place you in better lighting (like- WTF is your back to the sun in that middle picture)

being a photographer is much more than just taking a picture.

OP- I'm really glad you have a real photographer for your wedding- you'll feel a million times better.

Love yourself the way your fiance loves you! We all find the worst flaws in ourselves, its just how it goes! You look beautiful!

I agree... The quality of photos isn't the best... But you look great... Happy! I'd suggest having someone edit the photos a little better. Seriously.... Anyone with a camera phone can take decent pictures and there are tons of free editing software.... You can make them look just how you imagined.

I feel as if saying "anyone with a camera phone can take decent pictures" is insulting to photographers who not only are passionate about but make their living essentially recording the most important events in people's lives.

I second what everyone else said. You are beautiful, the pictures suck. Once you have your hair and makeup done, and a professional photographer taking pictures at your wedding I'm sure you'll feel much differently.

Can you think of a time when you thought, "I look awesome right now!"? Do what you can to get back there! Hairstyle, makeup,clothing, whatever it is. You're adorable, and you being happy with your FH makes you look even more beautiful.
As for the photographer, do some research, you don't have to spend a ton of money to get a professional. There's a lot of great deals out there.

I also had a friend do our engagement pictures, and hired a pro for the day of. She took way to long to get them back, but she did a great job. It's all in who you use. I don't recommend a friendor, she offered and we weren't going to take any in the first place. So it worked out. You look really good ad happy though!!
