I don't get invited to many weddings, but this weekend I got an invitation in the mail!! Y'all I literally jumped up and down I was so excited Smiley smile My best friend from high school is getting married, and on a yacht no less. Well I filled out my RSVP and put it in the pile to mail out on Monday, Well, my FH came to me and asked if we were really going....I was like Duhhhh yeea! He said OK but I thought we were trying to save money. I looked at the invitation again and it said:

FREE food, entertainment and ALL you can drink

*$50 admission*

WHAT?!?! Have you ever seen this before?? I really want to go, but $100 plus a wedding gift might be pushing it one week before our wedding.

    NO NO NO.

"I will probably go, because I want to keep the friendship."

That does not make any sense, you will go to KEEP the friendship? It looks like your friend made the choice to LOSE friendships by making friends and family pay. You do not pay $50 per person out of guilt to "keep friendships". If she wants to keep friendships, she'd seriously reconsider and not charge a fucking fee. Excuse my language but that is the dumbest thing to do (to go by guilt and pay AND to MAKE guests pay to attend a wedding).

Also, are you suppose to pay this fee when sending in your RSVP or at the door??? Because what if some guests, like you, missed the part that says "$50 admission"?

If they are suppose to pay at time of RSVP and they missed this line does the couple call up and say "hey, where is your cover?" or if they have to pay at the door be surprised by the bouncer and and say "sorry, i didn't realize there was a cover" and just turn around and go home? HOW DOES THAT WORK?
