i Feel Like My Dress is Missing Something

The pictures below are of my dress. I like the top of it, and how sparkly it is. The skirt has shiny sequins in it that are hard to see in the picture. I feel like it's missing something, and as a result I have reoccurring issues with whether I actually like it or not. I can't really place a finger...

I can't really place a finger on what it's missing, but something just doesn't feel quite right.

I think the skirt does need more poof, it has the smaller ball gown slip under it in the picture, so I’ll probably go with a bigger one. I love the dresses that have details around the bottom of the dress, and I think maybe I’m missing having something like that on this dress, but it would probably be super expensive to get beading added to the bottom to match the top.

That’s probably part of my problem. The dress is at my FIL’s so I don’t get to see it when I want to, all I get to see regularly are the pictures and the skirt definitely looks plain. I loved a dress that had lace and bead detailing on the edge of the bottom of the skirt, and I have a nagging feeling that, that’s what I feel like I’m missing but it would probably be super expensive to add beading there, if they even can since it’s all tulle.

Thank you, I appreciate that. I’m definitely still working on the earring situation. I have a tiara but it’s a smaller one, so I don’t know if it’ll be enough to really complete the look. I’ve been reconsidering wearing a veil, the shorter ones i tried on were super uncomfortable, but I never looked at longer ones.

I totally understand! My dress is being stored at the bridal house, and I won't get to see it in person until June when I start going in for fittings/alterations.

How funny - my dress has lace along the bottom, and I actually thought it might be too much at first since the top is super ornate. Then I went the other way and thought maybe it didn't balance out the top enough since it had the lace, but no beading. I wasn't second-guessing the dress at all, I just wanted to be sure that everything would complete and proportioned.

I had to take a moment to get out of my head and remember that I looked & felt great in the dress, and that everything would come together with accessories. After looking at some before and after shots on here, it's amazing how much the dress pops when you add all those other details. Smiley smile

I also was adamant about not wearing a veil at first, but I've reconsidered since that's one of the things that pulls my look together. My dress has a chapel length train, so I'll be going with a cathedral length veil.

You could consider doing a long veil with beading or lacework on the bottom to complement the top of your dress.
