i Feel Like My Dress is Missing Something

Erin, on August 25, 2019 at 11:43 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 26

The pictures below are of my dress. I like the top of it, and how sparkly it is. The skirt has shiny sequins in it that are hard to see in the picture. I feel like it's missing something, and as a result I have reoccurring issues with whether I actually like it or not. I can't really place a finger on what it's missing, but something just doesn't feel quite right.

A veil should be enough. Cathedral length

I think it's just how low cut the cups are. It looks like the dress sits quite low on your chest. Or maybe it's just the shape of the cups? It's still very pretty though.

Statement earrings. I also Agree that cups might help. It does seem to look low

Allow me to preface this by saying you are a beautiful woman. And the dress is beautiful as well. In my opinion, what's missing is something on your neck or shoulders. A necklace maybe, off the shoulder sleeves, even a higher neckline. I realize that makes me sound a little prudish and I promise showing skin is not the problem, it just seem a little bare. I think some more breast support just to raise the neckline would look gorgeous.

I think the dress is perfect. I think earrings, a veil & some kind of headpiece (sparkle headband or sparkle comb) would complete the look.

It's beautiful! Maybe try it on wearing some jewelry? I feel kinda bare if I'm wearing a strapless dress and no necklace. A tiara might help too.

I think it's gorgeous as is but I think a veil would really pull it together

I agree with PP's, the dress is absolutely beautiful (and so are you)! I think just a little accessorizing would help with what you feel is missing Smiley smile

I think it’s gorgeous as is. But if you feel it needs more.. what aspect? Do you think you need more bling? Add a belt or a tiara? Needs more fluff? Wear a hoop skirt or an extra tulle skirt? It’s your day and your dress.. it really is gorgeous though!

Thank you Smiley smile my mom told me they have a string of pearls that I inherited from my grandmother that I am expected to wear for the wedding I haven’t seen them yet though. (not super happy since I actually really don’t like pearls xD but one less thing to worry about). I appreciate the feedback.

Perhaps I’ll give a veil another try. I wasn’t planning on wearing one because the ones I tried on in the store were itchy and uncomfortable but they were also the shorter length ones xD

Thank you for your feedback Smiley smile I need to do something with the cups since they’re a bit too big even in the dress I ordered in my size, so that’s probably not helping. I don’t take it in for alterations for another year and a half, so I’ll have to see then.

Thank you, I am planning on going for more interesting earrings, I don’t wear them very often so it’s be nice to do something big. I have no idea where to start with that though xD

I actually got a tiara to go with it, but my FMIL won’t let me touch it unless I’m doing “wedding related” activities xD do you have any veil suggestions for something that might not be so itchy and uncomfortable? I have really sensitive skin and the veils I tried on (went halfway down my back) were so itchy and irritating.

Thank you for the feedback. I apparently have a string of pearls I inherited that I’m supposed to wear, and I have a tiara my FMIL won’t let me touch, I don’t know what to do for earrings and a bracelet though, and I’m worried the tiara might not be enough to pull the look together in a way.

WOW, you look stunning. I think all you need are the finishing touches of a good pair of statement earrings and a veil/birdcage/crown. Just know that you look like a showstopper in that dress, you're not missing anything.

Unfortunately I have to wear a string of pearls for my necklace (family heirloom) so no sparkle there, but earrings are fair game, thank you for your feedback

Your dress is lovely! I tried on one with a similar sparkly tulle skirt, and pictures don't do that little detail any justice, but it definitely keeps the skirt from looking 'plain.'

Some statement earrings will look great, especially with your hair.

I agree that a veil and some accessories will bring the whole look together -- it won't look like you are missing anything! Smiley smile
