i Don’t Think i Like My Wedding Dress Anymore

Sara, on April 12, 2020 at 9:49 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 17
Hi all!!

My original wedding date was June 27 of this year, but due to the pandemic, we have postponed it until June 26, 2021. I had everything set up and ready to go for this year and now I am second guessing EVERYTHING. The more and more I look at pictures of myself in my dress the more I hate how I look. It is fully paid off and I cried when I put it on originally. Now I can’t help but think I made a horrible decision. Help! Should I buy a different dress for next year?i Don’t Think i Like My Wedding Dress Anymore 1i Don’t Think i Like My Wedding Dress Anymore 2

Oh my gosh, you look absolutely beautiful in your dress! And you look so happy in the pictures. May I ask what you dislike about your dress?

Hi ladies thank you so much! I really don’t like how low the bodice is.

I wouldn’t, it’s beautiful! I think you’re just overthinking it because you have more time to dwell on things. I think just the idea of this will be your only time to wear a wedding dress stresses us all out.

I think you look beautiful and you “girls” 😉look great. I had a twinge of dress regret after looking at hundreds of dresses after I put a deposit on mine. It’s normal. What I suggest is stop looking at other gowns or you’ll always have “grass is greener syndrome”. Take a break come back and revisit your original vision and see how you feel then.

I think your dress is absolutely gorgeous and fits you well. This is a super stressful time though so I understand rethinking everything.
Where is your dress now? Are you able to put it on and see how you feel?
I’d recommend doing that before buying something else. But then, if money isn’t an issue, and you just don’t love it anymore, try on others! I just wouldn’t go that direction just wait. I would wait until later on when it’s closer to your wedding because what you want can still change.Again though you look stunning in this!

You can always fix that, I mean it looks super hot on you but if you don’t like it. Talk with your seamstress. You have plenty of time.

I think you look gorgeous in that dress. It’s very flattering on you. If you are worried about how low it is a seamstress can fix that for you easily.

You could ask your seamstress to put in a modesty panel. You don't have to get rid of the whole dress.

Absolutely not! That dress is killer. Its a classic shape but the neckline and pattern are modern. I love it.

Your dress has POCKETS! What is there to second-guess? Haha. But seriously, that is such a bonus. Otherwise, your dress is elegant (the silhouette & fabric), whimsical (with the lace pattern) and sexy at the same time (your ladies look perky and perf). I imagine you'll take your hubby's breath away. You look stunning, but like other posters mentioned - try a more modest modesty panel if the ladies bother you. Smiley winking

You look absolutely stunning in that dress! I think every part of it looks beautiful on you, including the neckline. However, if you're having doubts after reflecting on your decision for awhile, you could set up a new dress shopping appointment for this summer/fall to see what your other options are. That could also be a nice way to treat yourself to a special/fun experience now that another year has been unexpectedly added to your pre-wedding build-up. Looking at other dresses could also help you realize that your original dress is still perfect for you and give you some peace of mind!

First of all. You look beautiful. But I also understand. My wedding would've been September but now it'll be next year. I had the same issue i fell in love with my dress but I've been over thinking if I should try and get store credit and get a different one. Mine is also fully paid at David's bridal i haven't even been able to pick it up. But i also thought about getting a second dress. Maybe you can get a nice simple different one change into throughout the reception.
