I don't want to be judged, but I went about 2 months ago to pick out my dress...I found one I was in LOVE with, but well, now I'm not. I have put a deposit down, but have not paid it off fully yet. I don't want to be judged, but I went about 2 months ago to pick out my dress...I found one I was in LOVE with, but well, now I'm not. I have put a deposit down, but have not paid it off fully yet. The lady of the dress venue told me that IF I wasn't satisfied with the dress I could come back and try something else on.

I HAVE NO IDEA WHY I'm being this hard headed, but when I got home and started looking at the pictures of me in it, I began to hate it more and more every day. The dress makes me feel huge and it's completely backless, therefore no bra, no corset, just the weird ass stick on things that make your breast sag. And it has sleeves which I'm not too keen on and the train is too long for where I'm getting married and how long of a wedding walk I have, plus it's ALL lace, which is perfect BUT I can't wear a sash or anything and it's uber plain.....GRRRR

I need opinions on whether or not I should go back and pick something that I really want instead?

All glammed up, I think you would change your mind. You look gorgeous in it! Next time you get a haircut and have your hair styled, go try it on again. You need to remind yourself that you'll be all gussied up and your dress will be amazing.

I appreciate every single one of you (and the compliments) and I guess I will go and try the dress on again and a couple of others and hopefully find a dress that I'm willing to drop a grand on. lol But who knows I may stick with this one. It is lovely.

And KirstenMichelle: good luck on your dress shopping, don't worry about feeling this way...I always make things difficult. I'm just glad I found a man who can put up with it. lol

I agree with KT-V. Its beautiful! And you look stunning. Not huge at all and your boobs don't look saggy (plus there are pasties or backless bras). I LOVE the backless and lace. I agree you need to try it on again. I had second thoughts also and felt better going back and trying it on. It helped also that I explainedy issues and they pinned it better to help me see it after alterations. If you still want to, try some on.

Omg you look fantastic and very happy! I agree with everyone else go try it on again, bring someone who you truely trust and honor thier opinion. I stand by what I said before about needing to feel completely confident and beautiful. If you're still having doubts after trying it on, try on some other gowns... There's no harm in looking around... then make your decision. Either way, you need to feel beautiful on your wedding day no matter what dress you end up with.

SupermanBride: Basically, the reason I began feeling this way is that I know I need to get in shape before my wedding day. I'm not fat by any means but things aren't as tight and lifted...comes with age I guess...but when I went in I had a dress in mind: I wanted ALL lace and STRAPLESS, with a SEMI-low back. Well when I put this one on EVERYONE that came with me, including my bluntly-rude and honest MOH loved this dress...so I guess on impulse and being a people pleaser...Smiley sad I said Yes to this dress. AND why I made my mind up on the fourth dress I tried on boggles my mind. But yeah, I guess seeing the dresses online of the dress I had in mind is making it ALOT worse and I'm afraid I won't be able to lose all the weight needed to be lost to feel comfortable in this dress. And I could at least wear a corset or spanks at the very least in a strapless...a completely backless dress is a pain and meant for girls with a leaner figure.

Its GORGEOUS!! Smiley smile but you want to make sure you feel 100% confident - i agree with the others and just go out a shop around a little, you never know what you will find or if that helps to clear your mind

if it makes you feel better I never got the "feeling" until I had my 2nd fitting, when it actually was fitted and I could move in it Smiley smile

After reading your description of the dress, I was not expecting to see the dress in the photos you provided...you made it sounds WAY worse than I think it is...which is not even at all. I think the dress is rather pretty, actually.

However, as another woman who is endowed enough to not be able to go anywhere without a brassiere, I understand your concerns about the backless-no-bra-no-corsette issue. In the photos, it doesn't look like your breasts are sagging though. Maybe you can see about adding bra cups to the dress during your alterations...it might help a bit.

And speaking of alterations, the sleeves can be removed as well if you really don't like them.

I would try it on again to make sure of how you really feel, but if you really don't like it anymore, see if your deposit can just transfer into a new dress and get one that you do like.

Honestly, if you did nothing (working out wise) you would still look drop dead beautiful! but I understand about wanting to feel your best too!!! Have you talked to the dress shop to see they they can talk to the designer about making the back higher so you can wear a bra, and that way you can add a belt too. I know there are a few designers that will not alter their dresses at all but a lot of designers work with you and make the dress exactly the way you want it. if that's the case, They will probably be able to make the train smaller too.

Just some questions to take back to the dress shop to help make this the dress of your dreams!

I think it's absolutely gorgeous on you too, but you need to feel the same way. I'm glad you're going back to try it back on. You could always have cups sewn into the dress so you wouldn't need sticky ones, have the train shortened, and add a blingy sash. One of my BMs who's getting married in a couple weeks has an all lace dress and she added a blingy sash and it looks terrific and really adds that little something extra. I also think the sleeves are gorgeous too.

But good luck! You deserve to be 100% happy with your dress!

ETA: with adding a sash, you could have it attached to the sides of the dress by your arms and have the rest of the tie part of the sash cut off. That's what my BM did. Then you could still have the sash with the backless dress.

HOLY CRAP. That dress is beautiful. Literally stunning on you and I'm not just being nice. I don't comment on posts if I hate the dress. I do NOT hate the dress.

    I think this is fabulous!

BUT I bought a dress, then bought a second because I hated the first. If you don't love it, losing some money is worth it. It's your wedding, you need to love the dress.

You're so delusional!! you look beautiful! your body is awesome! BUT it's truly about what makes you feel good. Try more on if you have that option. Don't stay unsatisfied.

Wow. I think the dress looks absolutely incredible on you. It's so beautiful and elegant yet the back adds a touch of sexiness. I also don't look at it and see any of your flaws, but we're always our biggest critics.

I definitely agree that you should go and try it on again. Maybe by yourself? Maybe with one other person who won't be pushy but will give you their opinion?

    Good Luck!
