I don't have bridesmaids!

So I am getting married in June and have put off finding bridesmaids because I don't have a lot of close friends at the moment... I have people I hang out with in class, but no one I feel that close to and I haven't kept in touch with friends from high school. I have one brother, and my FI is an only child. I have a cousin that I'm considering asking, but we haven't been that close since we were kids.

I guess I was hoping some friends would magically appear, but time is ticking.

Currently, I have a friend that I was close with in high school and my little brother in the wedding party - but he will only be 16 so it will be more of an honorary role.

At first I was okay with having a small untraditional wedding party, but then the first question my fiances aunts asked was "how many people are standing for you?!" Now I feel insecure and am scared of being judged for not having friends.

Any clever ideas? Would it be weird to ask distant friends?

I will be having no bridesmaid too Smiley smile i'm relocating to a new state to live with my FH soon next year along with the wedding venue there. With that all my friends living in another state, it's too much of a hassle to organize bridesmaid. If you don't feel like you have anyone "special" to ask, you shouldn't force yourself to fill them out just because. No problem with just you and your FH being up there!

First, you don't need or have to have a bridal party. Especially just because other people ask questions and stick their nose in your planning.

Second, 16 is old enough to be in a wedding party. I have a 16 year old as my bridesmaid.

Third, I have never had a lot of girl friends that I was close to (just my sister). And I just wouldn't worry about it. If you want to ask your cousins then do it because it is what you absolutely want. If you have some friends you get close with between now and June then ask them. But don't ask people just because you think you need to. You can even ask your brother to stand on your side! It doesn't have to be the traditional idea of a bridal party! Don't stress!

I don't really have close friends, my twin brother and my sister will stand with me, FH has chosen two good friends to stand by his side. I'm not feeling insecure at all. I'm having a ton of fun planning with my siblings. I wouldn't want anyone else by my side regardless of anyone else's opinions. I'm rather introverted and don't really like people. I focus on work and my relationship with FH, friends aren't very important to me, I'm not going to pretend like they are to please others at my wedding.

I am in the same boat. At first it bothered me and now I don't care. I will walk down that aisle and if people care about me, they will just be a guest. No need for a wedding party.

You don't need bridesmaids. We're only having a MOH & best man. If that's what works for you, then do that!

I never had many girlfriends growing up. I started dating FH as a junior in high school and we're getting Married on our 9 year anniversary. He is my best friend. It's just going to be him and I rather than force something

We are only having a maid of honor and a groomsman. You can do a small bridal party or skip it all together. Don't feel obligated to ask somebody you aren't close to.

I don't see anything wrong with your original plan. I wouldn't ask distant friends just because. The way I look at it is if you would feel awkward being asked to be in that person's wedding, they probably feel the same way. But you also have some time still before you'd necessarily need to give your bridal party notice.

Don't worry if you don't have a bridal party. Think it this way, it will be a lot cheaper for you. Lol

I don't have any bridesmaids and it's not because I don't have friends it's really just not a necessity. I can stand by myself with my FH because that's how it will always be.

I don't have a bridal party and I don't care. I didn't want one. To me, this ceremony is about FH and I getting married. I don't want to deal with the added stress of BP being drunk, or not paying for their outfit/getting it in time.

I am not having a wedding party....my fiancée and I both of kids, he has 2 boys, and I have 1, they are going to be our attendants! After many episodes of say yes to the dress, I decided against the stress....lol and less money!! My 2 close friends will be my personal attendants and my sisters are both taking part in the ceremony.

I'm surprised at how many are not having attendants!!

I'm right there with you... I don't really have close girlfriends anymore b/c of falling outs or going off to different colleges. So I'm just having my two sisters and two sister in laws but if it wasn't for my family I wouldn't have any and I would be okay with that. It's not about them, it's about you and your Fiancé.

I'm just having my 2 sisters, my FH's sister, & childhood friend. I've been going back and forth on to ask my 2 friends I had in nursing school. I talk to them all the time and I know they want to be in my wedding but I feel more obligated to and rather have just my family. I love them to death but i can't decide.
