i cry everytime i try to choose a father/daughter dance song

I was the same way. I am super, super close with my dad (his only daughter too) and I cried more picking a song for me and him than I think I did over anything else lol. I know I'm going to be a mess during our dance.

I did too! I also cry at picking out mothers day and Father's day cards. And forget trying to pick out a gift for them for the wedding... I was bawling!

I actually let my father choose the song to dance to though. Maybe you can try to pick one out together?

I cry with the song I chose for my father daughter dance. The words just get me in my feels!

YASS i know exactly how you feel!! I cried at the thought of it YEARS before I was even engaged! My dad and I have a weird relationship, one where you get the feeling he never really wanted to be a dad but when he invites us to something everything is normal. Like FH and I have been in our house for over a year and dad still has yet to come see it.. My heart just breaks thinking about the father daughter dance just because of our strange relationship.

My dad actually chose the song he wants us to dance to (because you loved me by Celine Dion). Now every time I hear the song I start crying Bc our relationship is very strong. I know it’s going to be a very emotional moment for both of us. So I understand where you are coming from!

Same! I am a daddy's girl and I found the most perfect song...I know I will be crying the entire time but I needed to find a song that would describe our relationship.

My sisters and I always said that we would never find anyone worth marrying because my dad is such an amazing father to us and husband to my momma....and we said he holds the standard too high and we could never find anyone that could ever compare.

Well I found that perfect man and I found a song that describes that to a T.

I asked my dad for input and he was less than helpful lol.
I ended up picking "Daddy" by Abby Anderson and when my mom made him listen to it, he teared up. That's how I knew it was perfect!

I chose the song "Daddy dance with me" by Krystal Keith and every time I play it I cry.

I am the same way!! I have no idea how I am going to ever pick a song because I am so emotional. My dad only ever listens to classic rock and the only other song is my mom and his so that’s out. I really didn’t like the song my sister danced with him to, so I’ve just been looking online and listening to a couple when I get the chance. I had the same problem! I'm the only girl in the family and my brother and sister in law eloped. It will be the first and only child's wedding my dad will be at. I'm a daddy's girl.

I sent my dad a few song options and let him pick his favorite. The song he chose is "Daddy" by Abby Anderson.

I'm like this with my grandpa. My real dad passed away when I was young and I have a stepdad but really my grandparents raised me. My fh mom passed away this february. So instead of mother/son and father/daughter dances, we are doing grandparent dances. I was going to use "There You'll Be" by Faith Hill and both of us dance at the same time but my poppy brought me the song "I Loved Her First" by Heartland and said he really wanted that song. Poppy and I are both criers and will basically sob at anything. So it's going to be messy ahahah

Dad and I chose a song! What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong. It couldn’t be any more perfect!
