I cant stop obsessing .HELP !

Amanda , on January 21, 2017 at 10:45 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 20

My weding is 4 months away, i have become a crazed obsessive bride and keep having nightmares that something will go wrong. I spen all day thinking about things that need to get done, or things i need to redo . Making lists after lists of items i may need and need to get. I feel like it has consumed my life. Did this happen to anyone else. How did you shake the constant worry? Im a hot fkn mess

Hey date twin! Yup I went through the same thing about a week ago. Spend half the week and all weekend making lists and crossing things off. Sunday night- I shut everything wedding related down (except for forums lol). Figured it what was next on my list to be done and I'm tackling that this weekend. Only way I was able to relax was to just back away. Also listening to others on here (there were a few BAM posts with great advice over the last week or two that caught my eye). One that really stuck was don't sweat the small stuff. No one will notice if something little is off (had a meltdown because I ordered a tie for dad to match mom's dress and it isnt exact same color. No one will notice on day off....not even me)

What Heather said..."no one will notice."

    Seriously, they won't.

I was freaking out a day or two before the wedding thinking I would forget something. But at the end of the day, it didn't matter. None of it did. We were married and had the best day celebrating with our loved ones.

    Date twin!

I just keep reminding myself that those small little details really don't matter. All anyone is going to remember is how good of a time they had!

Definitely take a few days off from it all!!! It can get crazy overwhelming. Find some exercise you like- yoga, Pilates, etc and start that! Work on breathing!

Food, booze, music and a ceremony. No one knows what didn't turn out as you planned. They just know they had a good time.

Lol I've had dreams of not having a MUA or hair stylist on the day of & having to scramble to find someone that morning. I guess since what could go wrong is on your mind so much it slips into your dreams. My fiance told me to leave wedding planning alone for a few days, it helped a little.

I can relate about obsessing, my wedding is a month before yours. The other day, I went to post office to have invites weighed to determine postage, and I almost had a meltdown because I didn't like any of the stamps they had available, I left without buying stamps. When I got back into the car, I had to remind myself that no one will care about which stamps I will use.

I agree with PPs, I know that I have hired great vendors, we will have great food, flowing booze, awesome music and the rest are details that others will not notice, but me.

I have worked myself into a panic over how much there is to do. My *favorite* question from people is "what all do you still have to do? You must have it all pretty much finished by now, right?"

No. I do not have it finished. I am no where even close, lol!

So far the only issue has been something that I would have not thought would have gone wrong. All I can say is if something really does go wrong, just go with it and be reactive. Don't shut down, don't over think it, just move quickly to find a solution and move past it. Once you've gotten your solution in place, then take a moment to say, "I can't believe that happened," and then let that be the end of it.

    Date twins! Relax!

I'm so behind, and I'm not worried, nor worried about the small stuff. Things will come together, and if they don't turn out perfectly then that's ok too.

I'm a little over 3 months away and starting to feel like planning is consuming my life. We went on a date night last night and I didn't think about wedding stuff at all. It was so nice. I agree with the others who say as long as you have good food, a venue, and music, your wedding will be great.

I'm right there with everyone else. I'm subconsciously getting worried. I'm usually a go with the flow person, but anytime someone mentions my wedding or I look at how many days are left I start to panic. It usually take a few minutes for me to calm back down and tell myself that it's going to be okay.

I went completely nuts over having the wrong napkins! Seriously napkins, that no one is going to care about. My two biggest fears are 1) That everyone will show up and we will run out of food or 2) No one shows up and all my hard work is for nothing. Of course neither of these are likely, but I'm still quite panicked. Keep telling myself that the important thing is I'm getting married! I love him so much and I'm happier than I've ever been. Best wishes!

I'm not actively worrying about things, but I am having bad dreams as well. All my vendors are booked, but when I go on Pinterest and Etsy, I feel as if I should be doing more in terms of small touches. This thread makes me feel so much better!
