Google. LOL Literally we stumbled into ours. Are original plan was creating frustration and I was venting to FH and he goes, ok pick another place it can’t be that hard. 😤 I may have death stared him and said it’s not like I can just Google up a new location. As it turns out...yes, yes I could. LOL I hate it when he’s more right than me! 😊

What are are you looking for? Maybe we can help? Apparently I have mad Google skills! 🧐

Breathe... it’ll be ok! You’ve got time. Do you want to get married locally? If so, look at “Venues” here. There are hotels, wineries, gardens, historic estates, museums, all kinds of places! But before that have you guys discussed:

    1) budget
    2) estimates guest list size
    3) a style/theme (if you must have “rustic” vs “glam” that can help you choose a venue. If nothing jumps out, you can wait until you see some venues
    4) location (close to home, close to your family, destination)

Congrats! This is very exciting. 🙂

Google. I didn’t know what I was looking for or what I wanted in a venue, but when I started looking for ones locally, I saw a winery/vineyard that I’ve seen in the past and from there I got the ball rolling. I did a lot of comparison online (wedding wire, the knot and here comes the guide) called to get quotes or brochures and made a Google spreadsheet. I include the name/location/capacity and estimated costs of all things related to it. This really helped me narrow down my choices and I chose one venue to look at. Fell in love and I’m booking it this weekend.

We googled the surrounding area to the church and looked through here for starting point. We looked at 5 venues.
    You'll find something!

Research, lots of research! I emailed and looked at SO many venues online. I was intears one night for over an hr because I couldn’t find anything in our budget. (We live in a popular city and so everyone charges an arm and a leg for everything!)
I found ours on accident. I went to a wedding show and received a follow up email from a venue that was there. I didn’t even talk to or see them!
They were extending their show discount and having an open house (with an added discount). I looked at the pictures and almost immediately fell in love. We went to take a look, but I pretty much knew I was going to pick it.
Youll find one. Just keep looking

We googled, and thought of local places we had been to weddings or parties previously. I made a list of about 7 places I wanted to visit but we never made it past venue number 3. I was making pro/con lists for each venue and the country club we chose had no cons and we just fell in love with it at our first visit and booked it the following weekend

Most important is deciding on your budget. Figure out what you can spend a day go from there. You don't want to fall in love with a venue only to have it be out of budget. Also decide what style you want. Rustic? Classic? Ballroom? There's so many choices and once you have an idea, Google the venues near the location you'd like to be.
I say visit at least 4-5. We went to 5 different venues. All 5 completely different and it helped us a lot to figure out what we were looking for.
It's a little stressful bc it feels like nothing can happen until a venue is chosen but it's also a lot of fun to visit the different venues and trying to imagine your friends and family dancing and having a great time.
Try not to stress, you'll find your perfect venue. Enjoy the process.

To us, our budget dictated everything. But I found mine through a friend referral.

It took 2-3 weeks. Having an idea of which venue fit in my budget helped. I didn’t want any surprise fees, so I made sure to call the preferred vendors on their list to get estimates and from there it was easy. Lol what works in my budget and what doesn’t.

I also searched on IG and Yelp to look at photos from other people’s wedding at the same venue.

We made a list of things that were important to us. We have a large wedding party & large guest list, so we needed a large venue. We both wanted large bridal suite & grooms suites. My fiance wanted somewhere to smoke cigars. I wanted our wedding to be the only one at the venue that day. We toured 6 venues and got information from over 30.

You are so sweet! I would be honored to help you. You certainly have an awesome village here to help too! Give me an area and a budget and I will post places! How many people? Is there a certain style you’re leaning towards?
