Hi all!

I'm thinking about my wedding shoes and I really don't know what to do. I am not very comfortable with the idea of being in heels all day. I rarely wear them and when I do, my feet hurt after five deep breaths and 10 steps.

It also doesn't help that I have very weak, "sprainable" ankles and I'm generally very clumsy. I'm really hoping that my wedding day will me the one day that God blesses me with a semblance of balance.

Basically my question is, what are other shoe options I can wear??

A little more info: I'm getting married outdoors on a covered veranda and then having a traditional indoor reception. So I don't really want to go barefoot or anything.

Also, my fiancé is 6'4" and I am 5'7" (on a good day) so do you think heels will be extremely necessary for us? Thank you for all your help and pushing through this rambling post!!!

I'm wearing boots. I'm taller than FH by about an inch (though he'd never admit to it). If we hadn't decided on boots, I was going to wear flats.

I didn't read all the comments so I'm not sure if this has been said

You're just wearing the wrong heels. Try, try try, try all kinds, all different designers. little kitten heels. Try a designer shoe

I've been looking for silver wedges for months now. So many were still too high (I have 4.5 inch ones that are still pretty tippy) and then I found these. Pretty sure I'm going with them.

Wedges aren't really heels? Would that work for you? Or maybe heels for the ceremony and flats for after? If you have a long dress then it totally doesn't matter what you wear because no one will see them..lol. So rock some comfy flats!

I'm just going with something simple. I injured my ankle and had surgery. Though it should be recovered by time of our wedding, I've found I just love the simplicity and comfort of flats.

These are similar to what I will be wearing.

You can do whatever you feel most comfortable in, it's your day! You can find a nice flat, a ballet slipper style, maybe a nice little wedge instead of a heel, sandals, boots or whatever else is your fancy. Don't let anyone steer you away from what you want. If you prefer heels for your photos then take a pair to get some pics in them with your gown. Heck maybe you want to take several pairs/styles and swap them out through the day/evening as needed.

I don't have shoes - or even a dress actually - but I have known for a while I'm wearing flats, Toms... something that's not heels. My fiance is only about two inches taller and while he's said many times he doesn't care if I wear heels and am taller, I can't. It would hurt my feet and knees and hips too much PLUS we're having our ceremony and reception on a boat. Absolutely no way am I wearing anything that isn't flat, lol.
