i am not sure what i should be doing at this point ( planning )

Kayla, on August 22, 2019 at 2:56 PM Posted in Planning 0 8

We have set the date : May 16th 2020 YAY!

booked the ceremony & reception location ( catering included )

photographer booked ( fiance's sister and her husband are bad ass wedding photographers and are gifting us this)

officiant booked

save the dates & invitations are in the works

found my dress

My wedding band bought/still looking for his

Im getting quotes on flowers

looking into DIY centerpieces ( I need 18 )

Cake - not sure about that one yet but have 1 place we think we will use

I feel like I should be consumed with wedding planning but I am really not sure what else to be doing at this point. Am I missing something or has my OCD tendencies just put me ahead of schedule and I can just chill?

I think you can take some time to chill. You're way ahead of the game Smiley smile

I had the same situation. I had a lot of things picked out and done way ahead of schedule. I would just look into all the small details you want to include. Signs, DIYs, flower girl basket, ring bearer pillow, garter, veil, gifts for parents, bridal party etc. I assume you have a guest list already, I would start collecting names and addresses for when it is time to send out save the dates. You wouldn't believe how long it takes to track down that information. I would also start getting together a loose timeline. When will your ceremony begin, how long will it take, when will cocktail hour/reception begin, are you doing a first look, etc.

Our dates are so close! We have also booked all of the things you listed plus a hair and makeup artist and our honeymoon lodging and airfare. You are definitely ahead of the game and deserve a little time to enjoy being engaged! We still have plenty of time to figure out the small stuff, though if you really feel like you should be doing more, the things Lauren mentioned are a good place to start. Good luck!

Date twin! I have basically the same things complete. We went ahead and found the rings for both of us, and he decided to get his custom tux ordered. Now we are focusing on honeymoon planning so we can watch for the best rates and book around October-November timeframe!

You can chill or fill up some time with DIY projects, either way you’re waaaay ahead of the game, good for you! You won’t be scrambling last minute for vendors.

I'm in the same boat. We're September 6, 2020 and we have all the people/vendors necessary booked. All that's really left is my dress and decor. Once we got on a role with planning, we just decided to go for it so we'd have plenty of time to enjoy or engagement Smiley smile
