Hey Ladies. So I have 11 BM's and I love them all dearly. Most of them are easy going, but there are a few, mainly those that have my same last name that are being really high maintenance. I told the ladies that as long as the dresses are the correct color and all the same fabric, then they can...

Hey Ladies. So I have 11 BM's and I love them all dearly. Most of them are easy going, but there are a few, mainly those that have my same last name that are being really high maintenance. I told the ladies that as long as the dresses are the correct color and all the same fabric, then they can choose whatever style they like. I have no had a stressful moment yet while planning my wedding and now here it is. There are some saying they don't want another lady to look better than them, they are searching for dresses on totally different websites and stores and sending me pictures of dresses that aren't even the right color blue. It's driving me nuts. I am beginning to think that I am going to just pick a dress and they all wear the same damn style. I was trying to give them the chance to let their individuality show, but they are ruining it for me. What are your thoughts on how I should handle this? My FH is having a ball getting all of his guys fitted. 6 of my girls are so easy going, the other 5 are giving me grey hairs. Smiley ups

OMG! Tell these women they need to grow up!! Nobody cares if Jenny looks better than Susie, because it's YOUR wedding, and all eyes will be on you, the bride!!!!

I think you should make it easy on yourself. Narrow their options, so it's not such a battle. And first and foremost, remind these ladies that this is YOUR wedding, and if they don't want to give you what you want, they can come as guests, and wear whatever they want.

Go to Azazie.com, and create a "showroom" which is a collection of dresses that you have picked out for them to try. You pick the color, then give them 8-10 styles to choose from. That's their only choice, any of those 10 dresses (for example--you can actually pick as many as you want). I think since they are being so difficult, it's important for you at this point to limit their choices. They obviously can't act like grown ups and do it themselves. So, create your showroom, and tell them that these are their options. Pick one by XX date, or I will pick for you. Then keep firm to that deadline, so you can put this part of the process behind you. It really shouldn't be this hard.

What if you picked out like 20 dresses you liked and told them to choose from one of them? It would still give them the option to choose a dress, but you'd still have more control of it.

Taylor, putting that foot down. I think once they see I am no longer entertaining them, they'll stop. You ladies are helping me a lot.Smiley heart

Maybe choose 3-4 dresses and let them pick from that selection? That's how I would handle it. Good luck

Haha sometimes you have to! Right now my guest list is 62 more than our cap. I know everyone won't show up so a few over is fine but we're WAY over right now. My grandmother seems to think she's running this show and can do whatever she pleases. Today she sent me 6 addresses with names (they all were couples or families) that I "need" to invite. Mind you, I don't know these people at all. Never met them in my life. They're her friends. I was like "Ummm no. I am not made of money and I will not be TOLD who I'm inviting to MY wedding!" The woman is off her rocker!!!

Hey Blair, I am thinking of changing my mind to do the exact same because I have done a great job of not stressing about planning and they are pushing me to that point.

Veronica, I think I am going to narrow that 20 dresses down to like 7 or 10. I am tired of giving them so many options.

I was just throwing out a number, but I would definitely narrow down their options at least for the ones that are being difficult. The ones that actually selected dresses I would allow them to wear the dresses they selected as long they fit into what you told them you wanted. It's sad that grown women have to be so difficult especially because you were trying to be nice and let them pick their own dress.

I also tried to be a laid back bride and let everyone pick their own style dress as long as it’s the same color and material. I have 1 bridesmaid that’s making it extremely difficult and I’m also at the point If just picking one dress for everyone to wear! I feel your pain!

When I was a bridesmaid in a larger wedding party, the bride made a showroom on Azazie and put in dresses she liked/coordinated and told everyone to pick one. She did it by whoever claimed the dress style first in a group chat got to wear that style so there were no duplicates. If I were you, I’d either do this so ladies aren’t ordering off different sites in different colors or pick one dress in their budgets and if they don’t want to wear it, they can step down from the BP.

I picked a color and fabric on azazie.com and had mine choose the style they liked! They have so many styles and options. They got their dresses in already and they are gorgeous, too!

Hey girl, I am already on it. I have already told them that I am narrowing down the choices and will let them know what they are this evening. It is sad I have to act like a preschool teacher. I love these ladies, but some of them have really upset me. Thanks for the insight.
