I accidentally found out his plan..

Ugh I'm sorry to hear this I found out about my proposal before hand as well...to be honest I just pretended like I didn't know because I didn't want to ruin the suprise and hurt his feelings It was still a very special moment for me and it still took me suprise!

I accidentally found out about a big plan an ex did. I didn't let anyone but the person who let it slip (no choice there) know that I knew and asked them not to say anything, then acted surprised. To this day I'm pretty sure he still doesn't know I knew about it.

I wasn't incredibly surprised... but I didn't know for sure. I knew a women who had the jeweler call their apartment and she found out though....

Honestly, some secrets you take to the grave with you. I would talk to your aunt (she probably doesn't want to be known as the person who ruined the surprise) and go along with it as though you knew nothing. You likely won't know exactly when it will happen so you will still be excited!

My husband was dropping hints, I guess assuming I'm clueless? Finally I said to him , 'did you buy a ring and are you going to propose on Christmas?' He looked at me, smiled and said 'yeah, how did you know?' He then gave me some sort of speech about how he wasn't going to do it on that day and guess what? He still did it on Christmas. Ha I was kind of bummed but he didn't seem to mind considering he still did it on the day planned.

My FH accidentally added me to the fam group chat saying "I GOT THE RING" and I replied "I saw nothing " and he relied "oh sh***". And then his dad and sister tried to cover by telling me two different stories so duh I knew what was happening. I had an idea of when but he convinced me otherwise so I was still surprised. I would tell him you know, because then he'll try to keep you on your toes and maybe do it at another time? Depends on his personality though because my FH was always trying to throw me off, even before his "plan" and even then I was surprised

I overheard my FH telling someone that he was planning to propose to me after he ran the Broad Street Run in Philadelphia last year. I kept quiet about it for a bit, but eventually had to tell him that I overheard. He was still going to go along with it, was going to get his sister to take photos, but changed his mind a week or so beforehand. The weather wound up being horrible anyway, so it's better that he didn't.

He wound up doing it when we went on vacation to Ocean City, Maryland, a couple months later. I kind of thought he would then, but wasn't 100% sure.

I like the advice to pretend like you didn't find out, but I'm not sure I'd be able to keep up the facade.

We picked the diamond together and he designed the ring with a jeweler. I knew it was coming so I kept asking for hints. He told me there will be no trees around. Then booked a trip to Miami. In February. I was a bit disappointed because we have many wonderful memories from our hikes in Starved Rock park surrounded by nature at its best and I always imagined that would be the place. He didn't propose in Miami. Again, a bit disappointed because I was so prepared (picture perfect outfits, hair, makeup, nails galore). I assumed something is holding up the ring. He finally proposed on a hike in Starved Rock on a rainy April morning in the spot of our first kiss. The picture is of us newly engaged, he set up a tripod with a remote. It was beyond perfect.

Tell your aunt to keep a secret that you know and enjoy the "surprise" to the fullest. It will be spectacular!

I accidentally found out the morning of. I never told him I knew. It's just one of those things that it's not worth it to bring it up. Enjoy it Trust me, you'll cry anyway.

I started suspecting a few weeks before he proposed. That day he was acting different and was very nervous so I knew for sure he was doing it then. I acted surprised and as Katie mentioned, knowing about his plans didn't make it any less special.

I felt really terrible because I accidentally saw a Zales receipt. I was cleaning out pockets to do some laundry and I saw he had junk in his pocket. I always check before tossing anything just in case there's something important. I closed it as quickly as I could and said, "uh... I think you need this!"

He was definitely disappointed. I mean we were looking at rings together but I know he was sad that I knew he had gotten the ring. It didn't matter though. I was still so happy and excited when be proposed!!!

I knew the day and that my family had known, but I didnt know the plan. My FH did find out that i knew so he figured out ways to still make it surprising and perfect.

I would have someone in your family hint to him that you suspect something so that he will change plans a bit.

I knew FH was proposing before he did but didn't say anything because I didn't have any hard evidence to prove my suspicions. I was still surprised when he did it since I didn't know the exacts time or location he was going to do it. Just knew he was going to while we were on vacation at the lake.

Well fh had my ring shipped here and I was the only one home when it came. And our dating anniversary was that week. So. Yea. I knew. I had a feeling he was going to regardless, but I was kind of bummed.

We looked at rings. He went ahead and bought one I liked. But it had to be sent off for sizing. I never knew when it came in, or where he had it his. A photographer friend of mine, who always comes up with ideas and has me model for him... he came up with a new idea he wanted to do. So we had a family photo shoot( us and our two girls) we were 30 minutes into the shoot, and I was positioning is for a photo, he walked behind me and I didn't see him. When I turned around he was on a knee with the ring in my face and asked me. It was funny and sweet. Funny mainly bc I'm a giggler when I get surprised. Come to find out he had the whole thing set up. But I didn't expect a thing bc I was so accustomed to my photographer coming up with ideas for shoots. Adding a photo. This was after I was told that the whole thing was set up. I was so giggley. But it was lovely. And my girls loved being a part of it!!

FH spilled the beans that he bought a ring...after we got home from NYE. Little tipsy, I presume! LOL He proposed 5 months later.

You could always fess up about knowing about the surprise trip to Disney and not say anything about knowing he was gonna propose

I recommend playing dumb! He's obviously put a lot of thought into this and if it were me, I wouldn't want the fh disappointed.

IDK...I suck at lying or keeping things a secret. I'd probably have to fess up to FH if I were in your situation :o
