Hurricane Harvey disappointment

Venting.... I'm so disappointed. My wedding is 23 days away and I called venue (Brady's Landing) this morning to confirm final details. However, I was told due to tropical storm Harvey the venue was flooded/damaged and will be closed for approximately 6 months for repairs. No refund until 6-8...

Venting.... I'm so disappointed. My wedding is 23 days away and I called venue (Brady's Landing) this morning to confirm final details. However, I was told due to tropical storm Harvey the venue was flooded/damaged and will be closed for approximately 6 months for repairs. No refund until 6-8 weeks....bad part is they've known this for a week. They didn't call me. If I wouldn't have called today to confirm final details I probably still wouldn't know this. I was so ready for this day and now it's not happening. Ive waited so long for this day. Feelings are hurt.

    Things don't happen at peak efficiency after a disaster; they may not be trying to hold OPs money, but might not be able to release it yet. There are banks and insurance companies to deal with and whatever.

    If you can't rebook the whole affair now, perhaps you could do something smaller and more private or casual on the day and have the fuller celebration later?

    I am so sorry. That is BS that they have known for a week and didnt call. I would definitely speak to a manager/owner about the fact that you were not notified and will not receive a refund until after the date the wedding was supposed to occur.
