Oooh, Sinatra, good one! My idea for the daughter/father is "Wind Beneath My Wings" by Bette Midler.

We actually found this one after much searching and discussion -- normally, I'm all about stuff that is a fave shared song, but FH's mom listened to it after he said it was an ok choice, so they have their song all figured out (which is way more than my dad and I have ... or even FH and I for our 1st dance -- still clueless on those, but need to decide soon since I want us to take dance lessons).

My FH and his mom are dacing to Simply Man by Shinedown, it's different, and unique and I've never heard of it done before, we both love the song and it just so happens it's a mother speaking to her son

DESIREE....Simple Man by Shinedown? like the cover orginally by Lynyrd Skynrd? that is different and unique! I LOVE THAT SONG, but his parents are southern baptist. i dont know if that will fly with them! LOL! Alot of the songs we find sound alittle to romantic or alittle to akward for them to dance too....I DONT KNOW!

Yup that's the song... the words are beautiful, maybe let them listen to it first and explain to them the meaning of the song. how the mother is telling her son to be a simple man and not take things for granted and how to love and care and live life... its really just saying words any mother would say to a song, just differently
