How was your wait to the ring?

A little less than a yr before my proposal I made a huge step for FH and paid to take the TX bar exam. It cost over $700. I also took a $1000 bar prep course. A little less than a yr before my proposal I made a huge step for FH and paid to take the TX bar exam. It cost over $700. I also took a $1000 bar prep course. I decided to do this despite the fact that I hated Houston (still not a fan). I decided at the very last minute in January 2014 (originally I'd gotten a surprise scholarship in October 2013 & somewhat decided to use that money for the Texas bar but on Halloween night I changed my mind). When I made this decision I did not have ANY job prospects in TX. And I only have a little family here (all of which I never met before moving here). We argued for months leading up to this decision b/c I was really disappointed he didn't want to move. And to TOP all of that, he'd already brought the ring (my sister told me). I was beyond confused. I thought I'd proven my committment, still 11 months to the proposal. I would much preferred to be 1 who says "I didn't know it'd happen so soon." How was your wait for the ring?

    We met, December 2006.

We hung out/dated and had a long distance friendship until he asked me to be his girlfriend, April 2008. I was back and forth to Atlanta in school.

We lived together in an apartment for less than a year than both moved back in with parents. I got pregnant and we were still living at our parents house. We bought a house and moved in officially in August 2013.

He proposed April 2014. I knew in my mind it was coming...but just gave up the thought. I was ready early on. We went to a Katt Williams show in Baltimore. He wanted to propose to me at the harbor, but it poured down raining. He ended up asking me that night. Surprising me leaving a box on the bed for me to find. Lol. It was the most beautiful feeling ever.

Oh, he did ask me how much to spend on one too. I said not much. But that was all he said, I forgot about it all.
