How to word “Reception to follow”

Hannah, on March 2, 2015 at 12:56 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 15

I am thinking of saying "Dinner and dancing to follow ceremony"

What are you all doing?

I could only fit "reception to follow" on my invite. They'll have drinks & appetizers along with time to drive the 5 miles.

Our families both have one side that is very conservative. While there will be drinking we don't want to include it on the invitations

Maltese, i like yours best! Can i say reception even if there is technically no dancing during our dinner reception? We are going into the public bar after dinner And will be partying to the house band they have, but we didnt hire them. Probably only about 10 or so of our 38 will stay for it. Maybe i should say adult dinner reception following?

I would leave it at an Adult Dinner (or something close) to follow...reception implies that you rented a hall, caterer, dj, ect. I think if you guys have dinner and spread the word that you are going to enjoy the house band after it may be enough
