How to Thicken Hair

buckeyegirl, on January 3, 2017 at 5:58 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 15

I have very thin hair and most of the hair styles I like will only look nice with thick hair. Does anyone have any good ways to thicken your hair? I have 9 months.

I've been taking Biotin. Which has really thickened my hair, strengthen my nails, and clear my skin.

I also purchased hair clip ins for the day of the wedding. They are easy to install and uninstall!

Awhile back I had bought some clip in hair extensions that I just loved. Luxy hair is the one I went with. They made my hair look so much thicker and longer and they blend in well with your own hair.

I've been using Garnier Fructice Grow and Strong Shampoo and Conditioner and it feels thicker and is definitely stronger/ holds style better. Might be worth giving a shot since it's less than $3/ bottle.

Biotin will help! But I definitely recommend consulting with your bridal hairstylist about clip in extensions for your day! ETA: I'm a bridal hairstylist

Biotin and hair masks, etc are great, but they aren't miracle workers. You can expect a slightly improved, healthier version of your hair, but you have to be realistic. You're not going to go from stick straight, fine hair to Rapunzel curls from some Biotin and coconut oil. Your best bet is probably going to be extensions. I have fine hair as well, I decided I didn't want extensions, so I had to modify the hair style that I wanted to something that would work with my hair type.

My sister who is a hair dresser says it's almost impossible to dramatically thicken hair she recommends glue in extensions or clip in extensions for wedding days! They add massive volume without damaging! But she also uses coconut oil on her hair too, so maybe that?

As a professional I can say that nothing can alter the thickness of your hair permanently. Have you tried any products such as thickening gels and a good blow out? With volumizing products the heats of a blow dryer is what activates it. You can try extensions but they will be pricey. A good hairstylist will be able to give you the appearance of thicker hair through back combing and the correct product usage. You do have to be realistic in your expectations and choose a style that will work for your hair type. The styles you seen on pintrest are either naturally thick hair or tons of extensions and products. I would suggest booking a blow out on top of your bridal style for the day of.

Extensions. Hair thickness is determined by genetics, not what supplements you take or products you use.

Biotin & coconut oil! Also don't wash your hair so often. Try switching to a cleansing conditioner a few days a week.

There is no way to naturally thicken your hair- you can't control the amount of follicles on your head.

Biotin supplements will help for length, but only if your body has a deficiency. In my teenage years I was dying for my hair to grow longer so I went and bought the supplement. I took it for months and saw no change in my hair, skin, or nails- all of which were already perfectly healthy. Excess biotin (I eventually learned) is excreted through urine, so if your body doesn't need it, then you'll just pee it out.

I also suggest looking into hair extensions. My hair is relatively thin and I plan on doing the same. #thinhairdontcare

Extensions are the only thing that will help. Clip on extensions will definitely make your hair heavier and fuller.

As others explained, there's nothing that can naturally thicken your hair, unless you have a Biotin deficiency and your hair is thinning for a certain reason. It is about genetics; I have extremely thick hair which came from my dad.
