How to serve sparkling cider??

Crystal L., on April 13, 2015 at 11:50 AM Posted in Planning 0 10

Our venue does not allow alcohol, so we've decided to have sparkling cider as our toasting drink of choice. My question is, how do we "present" it? Should we put a few bottles on each table, with a ribbon or something, as a kind of decoration, so it's already there to use, or should we keep it all somewhere else? I want to make sure it's cold, but accessible for toasts. Any ideas on how to store/display them for easy access? I've never done or been to any place with toasts before, so I'm unsure on this whole thing...LOL!!

Usually servers come around with the champagne glasses, your plan would work just fine.

i think the servers are because its alcohol and the champagne cost $$$

Maybe have it sitting in an ice bucket on the tables if there is room?

Maybe we could have a couple of the people that are helping us bring it around like a waiter would? Or, like you said, put ice buckets on the tables? Anyone know where to find cheap(price, not looks) ice buckets?

Check out Goodwill too, they always have lots of them and they dont all have to match! Is there a way you could make the ice buckets into your centerpieces? Google ideas and look at etsy too. Im all for putting a bottle on each table. I cant remeber if your doing a hall or restaurant but there is also a champagne stand, that holds an ice bucket that Ive seen at restaurants used. Have you asked your venue if they have ice buckets...and maybe the stands too? I wonder what the cost would be for renting those. If your strapped for cash I would either ask the venue servers just to walk around and fill the glasses half full, on the tables...or they could pour it into the glasses in the kitchen and then just walk around and give each person a filled glass...or if your venue wont do that...maybe ask a few older nieces to be the servers of the cider?

I totally forgot to ask the venue if they have the champagne buckets...I figured since they don't allow alcohol, they probably wouldn't, but that's a great idea. I'll ask them! Also, thanks @Rosemary for all the helpful links

I think I'd put them on the tables. Plus if there's extra, people can drink it. I love me some sparkling cider.

Just have them on the tables. Chill them in the fridge beforehand. It's not that complicated. Just make you have a bottle opener to get the metal caps off.
