Okay I have a question but this is also me venting. I have had so many people ask me if they can add guests to their invitations. I have responded no to them and then they get upset. Umm sorry, not sorry. I can’t believe people even have no shame and ask. Anyway, my cousin just texted me to ask me...
Okay I have a question but this is also me venting. I have had so many people ask me if they can add guests to their invitations. I have responded no to them and then they get upset. Umm sorry, not sorry. I can’t believe people even have no shame and ask. Anyway, my cousin just texted me to ask me if she can bring her daughters.. age 4 and newborn. My answer is no but how can I tell her that I’m the nicest way? I sent her an invitation for 2 people... her and her husband. I ideally would have wanted a kid free event but we are having some kids there. Basically just my fiancé’s niece and 2 nephews and some of our out of state family who can’t leave their kids at home..
Thank you for your help!

Maybe you can say, "we're also not inviting children to our wedding for some reasons. Most importantly to us, we wanted our friends and family to thoroughly enjoy themselves and not have to worry about their little ones.I will be having xxx children attending in total (my fiancé’s niece and 2 nephews and some of our out of state family who can’t leave their kids at home). Many of our friends have children too and it would have turned into a kids party. I discussed not inviting children with some of my friends who have children and were invited to the wedding and they said that they would enjoy it more if the children were not invited. I hope you can understand that."

I agree with this so much, as well. I'm very particular about newborn care. My rule is to keep them home for the first 3 months.

I was thinking this too. I wouldn’t want my newborn around a crowd of people at such an early age.

I responded today and let her know I’m over myguest list and won’t be able to accommodate the older child. waiting for a response now...

It is indeed very tacky and frankly should be embarrassing to ask to bring added guests to a wedding. So far I have had 4 requests... all have been answered no.

I had a husband and wife, add their 13 yr old son one the RSVP. Clearly the Save the Date and invitation was old addressed to them. Not sure what I am going to say
