How to remember all decorations?

Ehmry, on April 16, 2025 at 11:29 PM Posted in Planning 0 6

How do I know I have a complete list of things I need? I want to be able to see a complete vision.

I found myself having a hard time remembering what I have bought so far & what I need to buy etc.

I made a Google Doc sheet ( you could also use Excel) and thats how I am keeping track of everything. It also totals out everything for me. And things I want to buy, but have not yet; I put in a list on Amazon.

    I hope this helps!

One way to know you have a full list is to start by visualizing the end goal. What does “done” look like?

I have a wedding email folder that I put all digital receipts of what I've bought so far. I have a manilla envelope for paper receipts for in store ourchases. I also have a word doc to list all items in each category (ceremony, reception etc). My list has things purchased and things still need. As I check off items I change the color to yellow.

Also you can do a mock table of your decor. Put it all together on a table as practice to see how it will look and you like the vision. Including table linen/tablecloth/table runner, chargers, candles, centerpiece). To ensure the tables are not too bare or overcrowded.

I'm not sure when your wedding is, but this is what I did and it worked really well. I started with my "vision" of what all I wanted regarding decorations. From there, I started separating out what all spaces needed decorations (Ceremony - alter, aisles, entrance table, etc.; reception - guest tables, sweetheart table, etc.). After I solidified what decorations I wanted, I created checklists for each area that needed decorations. I mentally had to walk through each space to make sure I wasn't forgetting small items like guestbook pens and mason jars for the pens. My wedding coordinator also provided a sort of checklist/packing list for all of my items and that was very helpful.
