How to pick a date?

I was wondering how you and your fiancé choose your wedding date? Was it a anniversary or have special meaning? Or did you just look on the calendar and pick date and make it your day?

August was too hot and our birthday month, Sept-his mom and my sister's birthday month, Nov- Thanksgiving, Dec- Christmas, Jan- new year and too cold for me. Never wanted a spring or summer wedding...I just invisioned myself with a greasy face and sweating in the summer months lol so that left October. Perfect month for us!

We originally picked 10.10.2020. It has no real significance to us, we just liked the date. We wanted a fall wedding but nothing too close to my birthday in November or Thanksgiving or his parents anniversary in September. Now that we’ve postponed we picked 10.7.2021. It’s a Thursday but it was one of the only dates available with our venue that didn’t require a price increase.

Pre Covid, Nov is when my fiancé doesn’t travel for work and I was looking at off season month for cheaper rates . lol So Nov 7 it was! If I knew we would be a pandemic I would of moved it to the end of summer.

We had to slowly figure out our date because first we had to cut out and sort of hunting season (my entire family) then all of our weekends were cut in half because we only have my fiancé’s girls everything weekend except in the summer. I hate summer but knew I wanted the girls to be there so we settled for the beginning of June. It was a big planning game for us

Our original date was supposed to be the day we first met, but after all this mess we had to reschedule. We just came up with the season first and then looked at the venue's schedule.

We knew we wanted an outdoor wedding in the fall so once we found the venue we loved we looked at their available dates for our preferred time of year then looked up typical weather patterns and good luck numbers for the year and finally decided on September 19th. Coincidentally it turns out that we're getting married almost exactly 3 years to the day from when we first met

We decided on August 14 2021. It's the day before my birthday/our 4th anniversary. We were going to have it this past August on the 15th but we really wanted to save a little money so we don't have to put as much on credit so we decided on a 2 year engagement. And I'm just hoping and praying that things in New York State start to go back to normal at least a little more normal before then.

Picked a date that worked best for everyone in the bridal party (parents included) we picked a Friday because they are less expensive than a saturday. Then because of covid we had to postpone and our venue only had 2 options and both of my fiancé's brother are in the navy so we had to work around their schedule and only one date worked. And that's how we got out date.

Wellll we got engaged in December 2019. we don't like heat or cold so we agreed on spring. so it would either be 5 months if we did spring 2020 or 17 months if we did spring 2021. so we chose 2021. we realized memorial day weekend starts Friday May 28 so we chose that date that way we have all weekend to party since its a long weekend. Thankfully it was available at the venue we wanted. soooo our date is officially May 28, 2021 Smiley heart

    Hi Theresa ,
My fiancé picked our wedding date and I’m so grateful that he did . I’m not the best decision maker , I flip flop a lot . I was able to agree with his decision due to its back story . We agreed on his parents wedding date , or something close to it .We will get married legally on their wedding date but celebrate on the weekend when everyone can make it . Good luck

My fiancé and I chose to keep our anniversary date the same. It has always been a special date for us and it made easy to remember. I say go with whatever works schedule wise for you and your fiancé. We are fortunate that our date lands on a Sunday, so it fits into our schedules perfectly too.

We based ours on our financial situation. How long we needed to be able to afford the wedding we wanted.

Hi, originally we wanted 10/10/20 b/c I loved the ring to that but that date was during hurricane season in which we were planning a destination wedding so we changed it to 4/11/21, I liked that date and it won't be too hot in Florida that month which where we decided to have it. Pick a date comfortable to you both and base it off of where your Venue is and the weather

We took our anniversary into consideration, time of year we wanted, weekend dates for 2020, and fun easy to remember dates.

We originally liked 10.10.20, but so did half the brides getting married in 2020. But then 9.20.20 sounded great as well which is our wedding date.
We were going to get married in HI and September would have been beautiful there too. Thankfully the weather in MD where we are getting married now is wonderful. It all works out in the end.
