How to incorporate brothers into wedding ?

Amanda, on June 4, 2018 at 7:58 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 9
Hey i was talking to FH today and we decided we wanted my brothers to somehow be in the wedding .. they are 17 and 15 .. we have are bridal partys already .. i just am not sure what they can do . We are doing a short ceremony .. no programs needed and its on a deck outside of the brewery so no need for ushers .. also the oldest is 17 and autistic so hes pretty uncomfortable with people ..

Maybe have them walk the mom's or grandparents to their seats? I don't know, that's tough. Maybe ask them what they would like to do or if they have any ideas.

We're doing "greeters" instead of ushers. That could be an option but probably not the best for someone with ASD. I hope you figure something out!

If they are comfortable, I like the idea of them being "escorts" for grandmas, mom, or any other family member they feel comfortable with. I'd order boutonnieres for them, and if you're doing a program, acknowledge them there. Invite them to participate in wedding party introductions and/or dances, if that makes sense with what you're doing. Smiley heart

I'm having mine be ushers, walk my aunt(matron of honor) and mom down, escort guests, and one of them will say a toast.

Would the oldest be so uncomfortable that it would ruin his day and possibly other people's day?

    I mean
honestly for the 17 year old it might be best not to put him in a place of attention. A wedding is already going to be a lot of sensory overload

I wanted to include my sisters in the wedding to make my parents happy so I’m having them wear dresses that tie into my bridesmaids and having them walk together before the bridal party and bam there involved in the wedding and everyone’s happy
