How to go to the bathroom in your dress

skyeangel61, on December 29, 2009 at 10:23 PM Posted in Planning 0 18

I saw this post on another site and had to post it here. I was lmao.

I wonder who thought of this haha.

* Open the door of the ladies' room and look in.

* If the floor is not clean, call the venue staff and ask to have it cleaned.

* If the floor is clean, walk into the ladies' room and open the door of the handicapped stall.

* If the floor of the handicapped stall is not clean, call the venue staff and ask to have it cleaned.

This ensures that you will not later get the train/back of the dress dirty just by having it touch the floor.

There was a post on here a while back about this. Another good idea (if you only have to pee), is to pick up the front of the dress, pull down whatever you have to and just use the toilet backwards. Then you don't have to worry about as much dress and such. I heard this makes it much easier.

I know it's so funny. I remember when my sis got married and had to go. I had to hold her dress up for her and we laughed. It was awkward but funny too. Something between sisters that even made her relax a little from being nervous.

Lol. Your post made me so glad the venue I booked has a bride's room that included a room with a couch, full length mirror, and its own private bathroom/sink.

I'm renting an old cabin-style meeting hall for the reception, I can't imagine the restrooms being all that clean (not that they would be overly dirty but because the place is only used once every 4-6 months it gets kinda dusty on the inside) so I'll be sure to clean them the night before when we go to set it up and decorate. We get half our deposit back if we clean the place ourselves.

I was wondering when someone was going to address this issue--I see all kinds of movies where at least two people from the wedding party are helping the bride hold her dress up; I was never the one who helped either of my sisters so I will have to ask them what did they do.....this has been something for me to consider deeply when looking for my dress...LOL

Yeah my venue has a brides room too and it is big which is a good thing. It also has a place to redo the makeup. I love it... It is all for me. i wish i though about this before i picked my dress out.. but i like my dress so i dont think anything will help change my mind about it. when i buoght my dress i left my self with 20 dollars for 3 weeks because i loved it so much and it was the last day it was on sale. plus thy no longer make it. It was worth the struggle and I think wondering how i would need to go pee is less of a struggle.

I think I will just take my dress off because I dont want any pee splatter to get on it. I have a very weak bladder so when I have to go its urgent. I will need all of my maids to help with this.

I'm not going to wait for them to clean up so I can pee. My bridesmaids have a lot of love for me and I'm sure they would help me hold up my dress while I go potty. Sure it's a little awkward but that's the story of our friendship full of weird scenarios that we don't mind sharing together. I'd do the same for them!

I am terribly concerned about this b/c my bladder has been super weak lately. I can make sure I don't drink before I pt on my gown and definiely make suer my bladder is empty but at some point during the day I'm going to have to drink something.

The bathroom is so important. I really have a thing about public bathrooms so when I went to visit venues I always checked the bathrooms. The one place had a BEAUTIFUL ballroom but the restroom was so crappy.

I actually saw an add on another site that said "Choose your bridesmaids carefully, they will be the ones holding your dress while you pee", Yes it was in big writing with a picture! It is always an expected job of a bridesmaid, that is one of the reasons you have them. They are suppose to be there for you when you need them, even if it is to hold your dress while you pee!
