How to get smooth hair in humid climates???

LeeAnna, on May 20, 2011 at 2:38 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7

I am getting married in Punta Cana and I have wavy hair that turns into a fuzz bucket when I am in the humidity (regardless of flat ironing it). I want my hair to be curled (with a curling iron) for my wedding but I don't want it to be fuzzy. Does anybody have any experience with the resort spas and fuzzy hair or any tricks to keep wavy/curly hair looking smooth in high humidity?

I know tresemme has climate control spray for that purpose..but I've never used it so I can't vouch for its effectiveness. Is that Punta Cana in Mexico or the DR? :-)

There is this thing I've been wanting to try but just can't seem to come to terms with the cost. It's called the brazilian blowout - not to be confused with the brazilian keratin treatment in which you can't wash your hair for a few days. Apparently, you can even color your hair the same day, it's that gentle. And it cuts your drying time in half. http://www.brazilianblowout.com/

Mrs. S to be, I live in SE GA too! Where do you live?

I have done the brazilian blowout. It does work, it eliminates frizz completely and makes your hair lay flat like you blow dryed it within 5 minutes of getting out of the shower. Seriously, it's dry that fast and looks like you did it! Buts it expensive, like $300, and it only lasted a full month for me. It's supposed to last 3 months, but I wash my hair everyday. But if you can afford it, the brazilian blowout does work.

I use Pantene Thermal spray before straightening my hair. I have noticed a MAJOR improvement since I started using this product. Talk to your stylist, too. They have great products you can try.
