How To Decorate Our Ceremony Space

Nay, on September 3, 2013 at 6:03 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 10

Our event is at a hotel in adjacent ballrooms for the ceremony, cocktail hr and reception. We went over to the venue today and looked around the space again and we were going to have an arch in the front where we'll be standing and then have it behind us for the reception. Because all the rooms are next to each other, hubby and the coordinator are concerned when the arch is moved, the staff will move it through our cocktail hour. Not wild about that as we mingle with our guests. Also, we are having a big picture from our wedding behind us during the reception and the arch may block it if it's behind us. So it looks we are not going to have an arch because we don't want to pay $300 for an arch that it only going to be used for a 20 minute ceremony. The ceremony space is bare as you can see by the pic and not sure how to decorate it. Also is a pic of the reception space. The pic on the wall will be replaced with our orig wedding pic. How do we spruce up the ceremony space?

An aisle runner will help, plus having the chairs out... maybe some floral arrangments in the front? If you are having a wedding party, a lot of space will be taken up from them standing...for my ceremony, we had to move inside last minute, and we put up command strip hooks, and had some drapery behind where our pastor stood.

Thanks Sarah. Mainly need decor for the front. Only MOH and BM are our wedding party. I like the floral arrangement idea for the front. I'll look into that Smiley smile

I'm not sure what your budget is, but pipe draping is pretty common as well...

If you are doing a unity ceremony at all, a small decorated table is nice in the front

The third image is what came to mind immediately...small section draped off, and small decor

Thanks a bunch Smiley smile I love the first one with the pipe draping. Just have to see how much it costs. Our ceremony is a super quick vow renewal ceremony and most of our $ is on the cocktail hour and reception, but would be nice to have nice decor in the ceremony space for pics. This could be an option. I shall investigate Smiley laugh

I also found this pic online and I think it may work in that room at not too much of a cost.

I dont know about the decorating, but i just wanted to tell you that micheals sells pre-lit arches for $50 each. All you have to do is add the fabric and whatnot to decorate it.

Thanks Jackie. I'll look into that. I'm not really a DYI person, but that sounds simple enough Smiley smile

ETA: I did a search on Google and there are so many options for prelit arches and this just may work. This is I why I love WW.
