How to collect addresses? And guest list woes

How did everyone collect addresses? I've gotten what I can from my mother and FH from his mother, but we're still short more than half of the guests. Did you ask them straight out? How did everyone collect addresses? I've gotten what I can from my mother and FH from his mother, but we're still short more than half of the guests. Did you ask them straight out? I'm friends with most of them on facebook and I was thinking of just messaging them to ask. But I'm worried that's a little...tacky? Also, our guest list (which can only be 150 maximum because of space limitations and budget) is out of control and currently sitting at a big, fat 301. Yikes. I just don't know what to do. The cutting needs to start soon, but I just can't bring myself to do it.

A few people that I know on FB I just sent them a PM, and got their address that way. Many of them I copied from my mom's address book. FMIL gave me several addresses, and I also called my Grandma for some addresses.

For me i see it as if they are people i want to invite to my wedding then i more than likely have their number. I just sent out a mass text and got almost all my addresses that way. If you dont want to hurt anyones feeling then dont ask for address until you have finalized your guest list. Only ask for addresses from those you know will be getting an invite.

When I was helping with my friend's wedding, we just ask them straight up, by phone call, text, FB, email, etc...

For my wedding, I have been fortunate enough, I don't have to do it as everything is being done online, all the guest getting paper invites are very closed to us so we know where they live and we see them every saturday at church.

I asked straight out, but we only invited like 100 people or less, but you could ask like Kimi suggested! Good Luck!
