the second dj is just him and his assisant put super out going more of an entertainer and a little outside the box and has never djed at my venue before

dj number on is alot more expensive

i know they will both do a great job but im afraid dj number two will be too over the top however he is cheaper a tad more responsive to emails

dj number one is closer in location for meeetings etc

IMO, the DJ really sets the mood-- if you're afraid he won't set the mood you want, go with the other guy. My DJ *totally* understood that we were going for light hearted and laughter and brought even more of that to the occasion. Just imagine wanting to shush your DJ in the middle of your wedding-- don't take that chance.

I agree with Zoe... Your DJ is the one thing (if done right) that all your guests will be talking about besides the food. It's worth the money to have a DJ who has great reviews and knows what they're doing. It should be great comfort to you on your wedding day knowing that your DJ knows what he's doing.

    Best of luck!

I would want a DJ with no personality. Meaning, I wouldn't want him to talk much. Just play music and make simple announcements. No jokes. No commentary. I recommend going with the DJ that's experienced and that plays the best music, music you, FH, and your guests enjoy. All the bells and whistles won't matter to the guests if the music isn't good. #NoCheesyDJs

Also, distance doesn't necessarily have to play a factor. I'm planning a wedding long distance and phone and Skype has worked fine for vendors like DJ.

I also want a DJ that does just enough and isn't too over the top. I would go with the one you feel most comfortable with and with the one you feel will provide the best vision you have for the day. A good DJ should know what to do at a new location! Have you spoken with both of them over the phone? Emails are good, but I would talk to both on the phone if possible to get an idea of their personality. Also check their websites for sample clips!
