I know where I plan to get my save the dates and invitations but I have no idea how to put the names and addresses on the front. I'm looking for a budget friendly option that is still nice. My handwriting is not an option. lol. Will officedepot or officemax print each guest address and name on my envelopes? How do people do this? Do people use clear labels? Any suggestions will be helpful!

I was going to run the envelopes through the printer directly and print straight on to the envelopes.

@beautyofdreams yup, i did print them one by one. I created a template in word and used a spare envelope to test out which direction i had to feed it into the printer. First, I did all the return addresses on the back. for that I fed 5 through at a time. For the front addresses, I had a second word document open with all the addresses typed out and copy/pasted into the envelope template, hit print, fed the envelope through, and repeat. I did 125 envelopes and it only took a couple hours over a weekend. I ended up doing the same process with just first names on the inner envelopes. You get into a groove and I actually found it kind of meditative.

I printed them myself using our printer at home. They looked great. Way better than my handwriting!

I used to work at an invitation store that would do guest envelope addressing for a charge! No matter what you choose make sure to triple check your list of guests and addresses!

I'll be hand-addressing ours, but I am going to recommend that you get a stamp for your return address!! They are really cool...lots of options to choose from....and there is always a Groupon for one! I think ours was only $20, including shipping.

I don't think it's a inkjet printer issue, but maybe laser jet? We have a printer at our office that you can't run envelopes through. The heat of the printer glues the envelopes shut! So, maybe make sure you can run envelopes through before you buy one if that's the route you're taking.

Goodpoint @Cheryl I'll be sure to buy a printer that can print on envelopes. I think I'm going to go the decorative rubber stamp route for the return address and home printing for the envelopes.

I hand wrote the STD addresses with a calligraphy pen. Took soooo much time. I decided to use clear labels in nice font and do it that way. No one even noticed I hand wrote the addresses... -_- not worth the time or stress lol

We used clear labels as well for ours and used Lucinda Handwriting as the font and they came out lovely. We purchased the clear avery 5160 labels on ebay so got a good price and I have the template for it if you would like it (*****.********@*****.***). I printed them at work. No way I was going to hand address 300 envelopes myself and I didn't have the budget for a calligrapher. I think I spent a grand total of $10 on labels.

I'm definitely between printing the envelopes and using clear labels. I may buy cheap envelopes and try both to see what works.

I also hand wrote mine. I did find a fun return address label that wrapped around to the back of the envelope from weddingpaperdivas.

It took about 1.5 minutes per envelope.

I'm just printing them at home. They have envelope templates. It'll take a while because I'll have to do it one by one and hand feed the envelopes but it'll look really pretty and be super cost effective.

I used labels for STDs and some of them will fade when they go through mail processing, which resulted in a lot of returns and wasted stamps when you have to resend them hand written anyways. For invitations, I just did a few each night and hand wrote them to save myself the added expense and time, especially when the RSVPs have a deadline.
