How soon do you get your hair/makeup trial done?

I'm conflicted on just when to do it. I was going to get a trial a couple of weeks before, but I see so many people on here doing it much earlier. Pros/Cons of doing it sooner rather than later? Is Mid-December too late?

I got mine done 6 months out the same day as our engagement pictures so I looked great in the pictures. It also put my mind at ease to have it done and to know how I was going to look on my wedding day and not have to worry about it.
