How much was your open bar?

Jennifer, on May 13, 2017 at 10:29 AM Posted in Planning 0 57

Out of curiosity, how much did your open bar come to and how many guests did you serve? I'm trying to come up with a ballpark of potentially 110 guests. We have a lot of out of towners, so I don't expect nearly all to show but of course planning on it.

Ours was a premium open bar and it was $30/pp plus tax. So with 46 people, around $1380 before tax. Our beo combines the breakdown with the catering bill so can't give you an exact amount. Eta: This doesn't include staffing which was an added cost. We had 8 staff and during busy times 3 of them would be at the bar so add $100/per staff plus tips to the open bar tab.

Around $3000 for open bar for 130 people, "package" is just below top-shelf. Very happy with this price. Includes 2 bars, bartenders, and champagne toast

Our venue is $30pp, so with 90 guests plus taxes and fees it was approximately $3400. I think, if I remember correctly.

But this will depend wildly on your venue and area. Other venues I looked at were broken down like, $20pp for the first hour and then $10pp for every hour after that, so in reality it'd be more like $60pp for a 5 hour reception. Those particular numbers were made up but they were pretty close.

Depends on your venue. Our venue allows up to bring our own alcohol and that is the way to go if possible. The baratenter was $200 for 4 hours and then we bought the liquor brands we like such as Crown and Bacardi and it was right around $500. So all in total about $800 for an open bar after we by all the mixers and everything.

Ours was $35pp but it did not include wine. Wine was separately priced per bottle + corkage fee.

We had 110 people, so the bar was $3850. The wine was $1400.

So total alcohol cost was about $5300.

I wish our venue had a figure per head count. Ours is on a consumption base; ($8 for hard alcohol drink, $7 for glass of wine, $5-6 for beer).

Our venue only allows beer and wine. We're hiring a bar tender (probably about $200 not sure) and providing the beer and wine for about 150 people. Just remember you only need to include the guests over 21 in the count. I'm thinking it'll be about $**** depending on what deals we can get on cases of beer and wine.

ETA: I could be super off, but idk. My mom is handling the alcohol because she and my step dad owned a bar for like 8 years.

Ours' was included in the package.

My sister paid $53 p.p., including service charge and tax, for 4 hours of top-shelf open bar. For the few guests under 21, they got a 50% discount.

We're getting the open bar through our caterer. Generic liquor, wine, and 2 keg choices for $12pp. Including the food costs it all comes neatly to $50pp

We're doing it by consumption (no other option) and the venue's cheapest wine starts at $36 per bottle. Beers are $8 each. Not sure how this will go lol. But we factored in about $40 per person (1 bottle of wine or 5 beers)

Holy shit I'm jealous of some of these prices. My full bar alone was $48 pp for premium open bar, plus 20% service fee, and almost 10% tax. We had 54 guests.

@EM, I also had those prices quoted to me from different venues when I was looking. Not a single one was less than $40. And yes, those extra charges are a bitch haha. Our venue, being in a city with special extra taxes to pay for a development project has a 10.775% tax for food and 13.775% tax for alcohol

Ours is included in the meal price of $74/ person, and that's the off-season price at the cheapest venue we looked at. Other venues we looked at were as high as $140 per person for meal and open bar

Ours is going to be $22pp and we are inviting 165 guests, but this includes children and about 85% are OOT so I don't expect all to come (still planning for all). This does not include any tax, service fee, or tip

We have the option for open bar or consumption. For beer and wine only, it's $54/person for 4 hours and the drinks averages about $8 each for wine and $6 for beer. We're leaning on doing consumption at this point for our 60-70 person wedding.

If we choose to do open bar, kids 12 and up count towards that cost.
