How Much to Budget For Honeymoon?

Vicki, on June 18, 2016 at 9:40 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 7

We are starting to explore honeymoon ideas but have no idea how much to expect to spend. Ideally we would love to do San Fran/Wine Country area for 5-7 days. Not including flights, what range should we expect to be in? We don't need to stay at a 5 star resort or anything over the top and would love to hear ideas on how to save money!

You could try Hotwire or Priceline to save money on the hotel, or do AirB&B instead. You could also look for groupons for restaurants and other activities you want to do.

How much you will spend is hard to predict since it really depends on how nice of a place you want to stay at and what activities you plan to do. Food always seems to be one of the biggest expenses on vacations, so if you can eat cheap for breakfasts and lunches at least, that will probably help.

It is hard to say.... I would pick a budget first, then research things to see if the trip will fit your budget.

If you have no clue... also start researching things to get an idea for general cost. If your budget is tight, there are always ways to go on a trip and save money. Check for rooms with breakfast included, although be careful as sometimes you actually PAY for breakfast without realising as hotel rooms without breakfast included can sometimes be $30 less than the rooms with breakfast. No hotel muffin and pastry breakfast is worth $30! Lol

Oh - my SIL and BIL were recently in that area and they said Sonoma area is MUCH more affordable and budget friendly than Napa. Everything is apparently more expensive in Napa because... Napa. So check out Sonoma county! Apparently vendors are more generous too... free wine tastings, while in Napa you have to pay for every little thing. This is all second hand knowledge, but she has gone to that area quite a few times Smiley smile

I second sonoma. My sister lives there and it is so incredible and much less busy than Napa. Also I'm from northern california, so if you have any questions on activities I'd love to help. I don't know much about lodging because all these places are a day trip for me!

And above all, dont budget for how much that trip will cost - decide how much you can afford or want to spend first.
