How much should wedding bands cost?

I'm wondering what a good budget is for wedding rings. We are a tight budget couple but we're thinking about saving about $500 for each ring? We're not sure if that's too much or too little.

You could probably get by with $500 each, depending on what you want. We ended up with each of our wedding bands coming out to almost the same price - around $750 each. We honestly expected mine to be more expensive and his to be cheaper but he decided to go with something that was a bit more expensive and mine was heavily discounted. Definitely search for sales and based on my experience, I recommend a smaller, mom and pop store over big jewelry companies. FH purchased my engagement ring from the same place that we bought our wedding bands and we found the quality, customer service, and price to be much better than if we went to a larger retailer.

I'm spending about $550 on FH band and then we are each getting a simple sterling silver band for $40(for travel).

If you find somewhere that makes them for you will get more for your money as you are cutting out the middle man.I saw the one I wanted In a shop it was 900, went to a jeweler who specialises in making wedding rings, he charged 500 made it exactly as I asked it was nicer than the One in the shop and fit perfectly with my e ring. It was 18ct white gold with 13 tiny diamonds across the top. Ok those prices are euros but $500 will def get you a lovely ring, just shop around. DH but his in a jewellers I can't remember what metal it is, is harder than gold anyway. That was close to 500 too.

There are so many different variables that it's hard to say. Depends on diamonds, metal, where you buy it, etc. Mine was just over $1,000 but FH just wants a $25 tungsten ring from amazon. He wanted a different one, but for some reason, the idea of wearing an expensive ring is stupid...which is odd considering how much he spent on mine. Haha

I bought my wedding band with a coupon FH got from buying the engagement ring, and got a steal on it for $350 (of which my mom paid half!). It's just small diamond band that fits around my engagement ring. It was originally $600 or something like that. So it's definitely doable, just watch for sales!

And try little mom and pop jewelry stores, sometimes you can get some great deals!

Ours will be about $2500 combined for white gold (mine) and yellow gold (FH's). I had originally budgeted $2000 but we both found exactly what we were looking for at our local jewelry store. I didn't want cheaper metals because I want something that will stand the rest of time and can be passed down in our family. I have some small pieces that I cherish from my grandma and great-grandma and I wanted the same thing for our future family.

Mine was $50 and FH's was $65. Neither of us plan on wearing them, they're just for ceremony only. How much a wedding band should cost is 100% entirely dependent on you and what you want.

You have a lot of flexibility in terms of wedding band cost. It all depends on what you want. I've seen a lot of grooms get their rings off of Amazon for $30. I spent $550 on FH's ring, and he spent $1,300 on mine. Both were custom made.

My ring is .5 carat channel set in white gold and cost $700 (on sale). DH's is Tungsten and cost $110, it retailed $400 and was on sale for $180 but we got it at Kohls so used Kohl's cash and coupons. So total spent a little over $800 for both.

It really just depends on your tastes and preferences. I would keep an eye out during Black Friday/holiday sales!

It depends on what you want and what you want to spend. I tried on a lot of bands with my e-ring, and I liked a thin, plain, white gold band the best. It was only $80, but H's was a lot more than that because his is much thicker and not so plain.

We got ours at the same small shop where FH bought my e-ring. According to the WW budget, we were supposed to spend about $150 on bands, but we decided that the wedding bands were more important than other things in the budget and wanted to spend what we wanted to spend, and ended up with about $950 for both, including engraving. To me, it was worth going "over-budget" for, as the ring will be something we wear long after our wedding day.

His is like $100. It's tungsten with a wood inlay (his livelihood) and mine was the same price because I got a crystal Swarovski band. My engagement ring is diamond, but we didn't really want to spend a ton of money on the wedding band thag I really wanted (would have to get it made custom) so we just got the crystal one for now (getting married in 3 weeks) and I actually really like it and kind of want to get a couple more lol. We are cheap.
