How much should a Day of coordinator cost in jersey ?

Kristen, on December 6, 2017 at 1:41 PM Posted in Planning 0 11

Hi everyone ! I'm extremely organized person . All vendors are booked. Chose high end vendors so that it would be professional and everyone would do their job. There are a few Small decorations that fall in the gray line of vendors responsibilities . Instead of running around and fixing it ,which I can't the day of . I decided to hire someone . My wedding is about 250 people . There is a captain for the food a coordinator that comes with the reception ... but just to oversee everyone else. When looking some people want 2,800 dollars doesn't this seem extreme ??? I thought 1,800 was high ! But 2,800 . For someone who is just assisting for one day !!! I could be wrong. I'm just scratching my head

NJ here too and this is why I haven't hired one yet, not in my budget. My venue is very DIY and that is what worries me most about not having anyone. The lowest I found was $1500.00.

I live in NJ but getting married just over the border in PA, same goes for PA.

Where in NJ are you getting married? There are a decent number of NJ brides on here (and vendors) that could offer some suggestions.

$2800 for the whole day sounds reasonable. I would think $150-$200/hour. Are you asking for all day help or specific hours (like 2 - 11 pm)?

Normal range for NJ is around $1500-$2500.

$2800 is a little high sounding, actually... but it depends on a lot of factors (size of wedding, tasks handled, etc., etc.)

DOC don't work just for one day - they will be communicating with you in the week or two leading up to your wedding - helping prep. making sure everything runs smoothly and handling any issue so you don't have to. It's not just one day of work and it isn't just standing around cueing the DJ when to change songs. It's all the set up, clean up, prep work and detail remembering you would not want to worry about the day of yourself. So yes that will cost a lot of money, especially in a high COL area. Are you more north or south jersey as that will effect it too?

We have a Coordinator that comes with our venue and she has been amazing to work with. She has been able to answer all of our questions, been very attentive and the best part is because she's apart of our venue she knows everything that can and cannot be done! She's going to take care of all of the set up - even assembling our centerpieces for us. It's such a relief to know so much has been taken off our plates.

My DH and I priced our a Jersey wedding before settling on a Philly wedding. $1,800-$2,800 sounds pretty reasonable for a DOC, honestly. Did you talk to your venue about preferred vendors? Perhaps they offer some type of discount service?

I hired my doc for so cheap$500 (she's not booking in Philadelphia anymore since she moved to Boston . ) . She was pretty new to the game .. and I hired her mostly so I can have somebody go and decorate .. and speak for me the day of .. I love her she's freaking amazing .. and I trust her 100% to put chairs and table clothes into place ...

Hi Jennifer! Event planners can be very pricey because what comes with there price is the experience. You can hire a younger coordinator for around $500 an event. I have a few great contacts I would love to share with you! Feel free to shoot me over an email at ***********@*****.***!

Those prices seem expensive! I am from PA and getting married in Charleston I have a partial planner that basically does everything a full planner does and she will coordinate the day of and she was $2300. There were some that charged $**** but you have to search until you find someone affordable with good reviews. My planner has been amazing.

Check out www.wishfulplanningevents.com she is way more affordable than 1500 for the day of coordination, plus or minus some for travel expenses and she is extremely helpful.
